So did Chavis change his defensive scheme in 2014? See my stats on the previous page

Why do y'all solely base Chavis off of last year
We never had DLinemen with big sack numbers under Chavis, what are you talking about just last year?
Top DLineman in sacks by year:
2009 - DE Rahim Alem 4.5 sacks
2010 - DT Drake Nevis 6 sacks
2011 - DE Sam Montgomery 9 sacks
2012 - DE Sam Montgomery 8 sacks
2013 - DE Jermauria Rasco 4 sacks
2014 - DE Jermaura Rasco 4 sacks

So you think Steele will not be a good DC, but LSU can potentially still finish higher than aTm?
Sure, mostly because I don't know where we will end up. We might beat LSU on the way to a eleven win season or it might be like the Auburn win last year.
The dot you maybe need connected is the concept that LSU can still have a good defense and yet that is enough to get Les fired. The reason is because LSU needs an ELITE defense to overcome the offense. Good isn't good enough.

Just in these threads
Which these threads should be expected. Look at the circumstances for 1 sec and then just use some common sense

So why did LSU rank 1st in the SEC in sacks in 2011?

Everyone is so dead set on LSUs offense sucking.
And everyone is dead set that A&M doesn't have enough defensive talent for Chavis. We understand your frustration that people want actual proof on the field before they believe.

Depends on who we're playing

Yea our DL class is about to be pretty insane. I don't wanna count my chickens or anything but damn, O and Steele are frickin closers.
Both have also been fired multiple times for poor coaching performance.
The history books are littered with bad coaches who were awesome recruiters. John Blake was an amazing recruiter, and if you have to look him up that kinda proves my point. He recruited three consecutive top-10 classes despite averaging about three wins a year and essentially won Bob Stoops his only national title yet he couldnt coach for shite.

My common sense tells me that people would get sick of having the same exact arguments with each other for about 8 straight months. I guess my common sense is off.
No skin of my nose I guess. Yall have fun.

So make a bold prediction for LSUs offense so I can include it in my annual "I bookmarked these posts" thread
But I thought our O has always sucked and our D was always what kept us alive? Shouldn't, by your flawed logic, Les have been fired years ago?

Idk, but it could have something to do with why DT Brockers was drafted in the 1st round.

I usually try to take these threads down a different route. Cardboard has already listed out all the standard arguments.

LSU had truly elite players at all four dline positions (Mingo, Brockers, Logan, Montgomery) and got significant contributions from LBs (Baker, Minter) and DBs (Mathieu, Brooks).
That's how. LSU was able to do that for two years. Then all those guys left and there was nobody behind them of the same caliber, ESPECIALLY at DT.

Must be dumb luck, because from what I've gather, all Chavis does is teach containment and pass deflections
