The dude literally signed with UT for one reason - money. Anyone trying to make this about anything more than that is spinning on behalf of someone.

And if they decided that they now needed to make a decision based on other factors (development, offense, etc), then fine. But acting like things weren't as they expected isn't even a good excuse. It's the same staff running the same offense with the same expected level of supporting cast.

Any change that led to a move if due to your mindset, not the facts on the ground at Tennessee.

What Tenn QB has had any impact in the NFL under Heupel so far at Tenn

at the end of the day these guys still want to ball out in the NFL and they need to learn a system that highlights that

I was drawn in for the Tennessee slander but I'll just read the responses to the OP to glean what I am looking for from those who watched it.

He certainly veered his arse right out of bounds on the last play of the game against Arkansas last year.

If it’s not important enough for you to consider when picking a school it’s not an excuse to leave. If Dad really gave a shite about anything but money he would have done a Google search and realized what offense Josh has ran since 2014.

These dads are like dance moms. They want that immediate paycheck and think their kid will transcend limitations of the offense. They live in that crazy bubble, don't give a shite about what anyone else says and won't accept they caused any of the problem.

Well, this presents an interesting dilemma in the setting of NIL and unfettered transfers. Since few people stay with a school long enough to actually learn a system and coaches are hesitant to develop players to only be snatched away, we are left with easy to learn simple offenses that can integrate new players with little training. It is what it is

I thought he left for the more challenging academics at UCLA.

This is BS and Klatt is just being a Big Ten apologist once again. Nico Imaleava wanted more money, he didn't get it, so he bailed for a program that was offering him more. However, because he and his father are idiots and don't understand taxes, they are making less money in Los Angeles than they would have been in Knoxville.

Thumbnail with Joel Klatt AND Colin Cowherd?

Add in Steven A Smith and Skip Bayless and you'd basically have the four horsemen of the sports entertainment apocalypse.

Sports analysts like them make ESPN and Fox Sports unwatchable outside of actual sporting events.

UCLA is a dumpster fire. It had nothing to do with the system. It was about money. Nico's dad seems to be the main culprit, and to his credit Heupel told them to kick rocks.

What program was offering him more? I may have missed something, but I read a while back that UCLA is paying him considerably less.

That's not what ESPN said today.

quote:

In April, ESPN reported Iamaleava's camp pushed for a $4 million NIL contract for 2025 -- an amount nearly double his original agreement. Tennessee and its collective did not budge, and after Iamaleava missed a spring practice, head coach Josh Heupel announced the program was moving on from him. Iamaleava entered the transfer portal and soon after landed at UCLA.

Nobody offered him more money. He just wanted more money.

In the end, it backfired and he got less money.

Talty knows the SEC.

In NIL and transfer portal era, top college football stars have more say than ever in building supporting cast
From Nico Iamaleava to Luke Altmyer, the best in the game are making their roster demands known...

In fact, one of the reasons for Nico Iamaleava's departure from Tennessee was discomfort over the offensive line and wide receivers that were returning to Knoxville this season. Iamaleava's camp, which included his father Nic and family friend Cordell Landers, wanted Tennessee to be more aggressive in adding players to help the quarterback. After a season that ended in Iamaleava's helmet cracking twice against Ohio State in the College Football Playoff, Iamaleava's advisors wanted a better offensive line to protect him. There was frustration this spring, too, over a wide receivers room that was now without Bru McCoy and Dont'e Thornton Jr.

Of course, that same camp also wanted Tennessee to dramatically increase its compensation for Nico, sources told CBS Sports, a demand that was ultimately rejected.

Joel Klatt may very well be a bigger moron than you, if that is possible.

He hates Tennessee with a passion. Tennessee hates Joel Klatt. Never believe anything he says about UT. He certainly has no inside sources there.

Nico left because of advice from two low IQ idiots. His father and Cordell Landers. Both are the kind of double digit IQ clowns that believe they are the smartest guy in the room, when they are the moron.
