It's all coach speak
Always is.
You won't hear a coach say he hates it here.

IMO Jimbo had already closed down shop in Tallahassee long before last year. It’s going to be interesting to see how he does at aTm with their resources. But that being said the FSU AD wasn’t going to give him what he wanted regardless if it was necessary or not to be a successful football program. In his eyes he didn’t really have an option but to leave for greener pastures. Spurrier should have stayed on until the end of the season. The only exception is if there were health related issues.

He still did more for our program then all the other coaches put together.

Spurrier quit. That’s just how it is.
Looking back on it I’m glad it happened because it gave us that head start at finding a coach. That and nothing good would have came out of Spurrier finishing off the season. Back then Muschamp was a joke hire, but now people think he’s doing great. I like where we are right now as a program. It could’ve ended a lot worse.
As for Jimbo, things were going to arse with him as FSU’s HC. He got lucky with the A&M offer and bailed as soon as he could. FSU then has to settle with Willie, which looks like a really bad hire right now. Although with FSU they could always steal away a big name in the future...because they’re FSU.
Hard to tell which is worse, but I guess people still say Spurrier because of how it looked to everyone.

You mean retire? Shouldn't have done it mid-season, but he went home.

Not sure if you understand what overall means.

Seems like a good reason to go to a new job.

o be honest Steve Spurrier retired about a year and a half before he bothered to retire. He got South Carolina to a certain point and decided to take it easy and hope that momentum would carry them along for a few years... and it didn't.
Jimbo was pretty good at FSU, especially when he had a Heisman trophy winning QB, but once it got out that his wife was getting hosed down by half the campus he lost his mojo. Will he be back at A&M?
Well he was handed the keys to a Porsche. Texas is horrible, TCU is TCU, and Baylor/Texas Tech are just hoping to get through the decade without too many losses. Not to mention at A&M he doesn't have to worry about someone cuckolding him. He could do really well there.
Or this could be a coach that has lost his mojo milking a school for a few years and getting a lot of money for very mediocre results.
That's not how it looks right now.
It looks to me like JImbo is on top of that team. It looks like he is working his arse off.
I wish LSU would have paid the money to grab him.

Spurrier would whoop his arse in a street fight.

Yes Spurrier left. But Spurrier left to save the year claiming he was hurting the team.
What a bullshite rationalization. He quit. He left because his massive ego couldn't take having his team getting the living shite kicked out of it. Spurrier has always been a massive pussy.

That massive pussy has a 11-3 overall coaching record against lsu.
