Spurrier bailed on his team in the middle of a season. He quit. He can spew all the BS about trying to justify it but it's piffle. It should taint his legacy.

Spurrier hurt the team more by letting recruiting slide after 3 straight 11 win seasons. Should have finished the season. I get that he wanted to give a chance for some of the assistants to save their job, but that was a lost cause.

During Spurrier's time at USUC some Clemson Tiger Ops guys were meeting with a high profile Georgia High School football coach. He told them that the SCAR Defensive Coordinator had stood him up for a meeting the afternoon before. The Clemson guys showed the Coach video of of him getting a lap dance at an Atlanta strip club at the time he was supposed to be meeting with the Coach. You can guess where that Coach sent his players.

What was Spurrier's record vs Dabo? 5-2?

To be honest Steve Spurrier retired about a year and a half before he bothered to retire. He got South Carolina to a certain point and decided to take it easy and hope that momentum would carry them along for a few years... and it didn't.

Jimbo was pretty good at FSU, especially when he had a Heisman trophy winning QB, but once it got out that his wife was getting hosed down by half the campus he lost his mojo. Will he be back at A&M?

Well he was handed the keys to a Porsche. Texas is horrible, TCU is TCU, and Baylor/Texas Tech are just hoping to get through the decade without too many losses. Not to mention at A&M he doesn't have to worry about someone cuckolding him. He could do really well there.

Or this could be a coach that has lost his mojo milking a school for a few years and getting a lot of money for very mediocre results.

Your first paragraph is close but the truth is he retired after the 7-6 season but his wife and our AD talked him out of it. Jeri's selling point to him was when would they have another chance to have all the kids and grandchildren together so he agreed to stay . He still did more for our program then all the other coaches put together.

South Carolina fans loved to spout off about how much Spurrier loved South Carolina and living in Columbia. He ran back to Florida as fast as he could

Half the conference didn't beat him 52-20 the week before he retired.

They hired a guy that raped a shark AND left a paper trail. Now they have a Scientology scholar as a coach. While BOOM has turned us around 180 degrees.

I can't wait until Thanksgiving when the Clemson Tigers score 70+ on Mustcoot. Remind me to ask you if you are feeling "turned around" afterwards.

I agree

But it probably won't because it was to South Carolina.
