Don't care about the source, Jimbo was never going to Aggie or leaving FSU anytime soon.

It's not TexAgs. It's Randy McIIvoy, the Sports Director for KPRC (channel 2) in Houston. And he does not name his sources. But he's not a fake news site, either.

Why turn down LSU where he has roots and has a better roster with more recent success to coach at A&M which is not nearly as ready to take the next step.

Good question. First, I can't think of any reason why anyone should think that A&M "is not nearly as ready to take the next step" except for the fact that LSU has had the superior program over the last 20 years. That matters, but it's not the only thing that matters. An answer might be as simple as timing. Another answer might be that he did not want to work with your AD but he does want to work with Woodward. A third answer might be that yall weren't willing to break the bank for him, and we are.

The biggest reason is that he's far more unhappy at FSU now than he was a year ago, but other reasons include..,

1: He's friends with our AD (Woodward) and reportedly doesn't care for Alleva

2: $$$, namely that we have a lot more of it. We're offering a good $1.5 million more per year than LSU did, and as it stands now LSU is damn near broke.

3: Our football facilities are newer and better

For the record, I like Aggies, got no beef with you guys. I hope you get a good one. I always enjoyed watching the Aggies growing up. I remember a QB named Bucky something who was fun as hell to watch in the late 80s-early 90s. The SWAC was my second favorite conference after the SEC till it disbanded.

I just think Jimbo will want to stick with the ACC a bit longer because it's not as strong as the media makes it out to be.

"USAHearld.com"

Seems like a legit, well-known, and trusted news source.
