How is a program that finished in the Top 4 once in 8 years of a coaches tenure one of the top 3/4 most dominant programs of the decade?

Yeah, 4 10 or more win seasons in those 6 years must have been devastating to live through. The man only had 2 top 10 seasons and another 3 ranked. Going to a BCS/NY6 Bowl only 50% of the time when you choose to ignore your 2 best (weird) is terrible.

Why didn't FSU just fire him already?

SoG is scared. We all see it.

And when he recruits one of those and coaches him up at A&M, watch out.

Outside of that, 8-4 (4-4).

Could be a lot worse IMHO.

He's literally never had an 8-4 year. 9 wins of better in 7 of his 8 seasons. Stop projecting your hopes and dreams.

and its funny hes taking averages. i can do the same thing and see how completely loaded his point is. lets take jameis out, its hilarious to do so but lets just do it cause YOLO. he averaged 10-3 in those non jameis years before this past year. and most of those losses came from him, successfully i might add, turning the program around after the walking cript keeper that was bobby bowden left him a program that was teetering on the edge of completely falling

so without a generational, heisman winning, talent we can win 10 games over a 5 year stretch? thats awful

I was about to say "How do you have a 10 win season with 4 losses?" but then Auburn showed me the way.

He's going to settle into a nice little 8-9, maybe even 9-10 win a season mold. Might have a nice little run with a NFL QB where he rips of a 11 or even 12 win season.

Should be a nice solid little run.

Take away the Saban years when he had a Heisman trophy winner on the roster and he averages 6 wins a season.
