Well he didn't go to Baton Rouge, so.....Dude, I was born in baton Rouge, and went back as an adult to work there for three more years, and I can assure you, Baton Rouge is no Garden of Eden.

When you think about playing for and competing for National Champinships Texas A&M isn’t what springs to mind. Would be a great hire for A&M but a downgrade for Jimbo.

They've won 2 national titles since joining the SEC though.

While true, Clemson doesn't spring to mind, either. Or, Georgia for that matter.

What's up with Jimbo @ FSU? Mutual dislike or one way?

A couple of things:

1. Florida State is very stingy on what they will pay assistant coaches (this is one of the reasons Wisconsin has a revolving door of coaches which started with Bielema)

2. Meddling alumni. As mentioned earlier, there is a toxic climate there right now. Not sure why or what caused it.

3. (This isn't talked about enough) The specter of Bobby Bowden. Even though Fisher won a national title at FSU, he will NEVER match Bobby Bowden's success there (Bowden is the 2nd winningest FBS coach of all time...winningest if you remove the vacated wins from Paterno).

They have the 6th highest paid staff in the country right now.

Texas A&M makes both Clemson and Georgia and even Auburn look like they have gigantic trophy cases full of hardware. Don’t sell yourself short. Georgia is far ahead of A&M in every meaningful metric as far as college football tradition and winning goes.

Same number of National Championships and Heismans. TAMU has more conference championships and first round draft picks.

Nothing to be mad about son.

I am just glad Jimbo didn't come poison LSU.

I drive through College Station once a month, it a long way from living in Florida.

While my dislike for Aggies is real.

I did play golf with John David Crow several times at our NFL Alum tournament, He was a good man and a friend even though he was an aggie and I dogged him for it.
