Jim, do you still think Bo Nix is better than Fromm & that UT is a contender in the East?

Nix 13 of 31 (42%) as many interceptions as touchdowns.
I won't buy the first game b.s. Fromm was a much better qb from the get go. Auburn is in for a rough season. The offense sucks, and their supposedly great defensive line wasn't.

UT 30 Georgia Freakin State 38
Mike Leach had agreed to a deal to go to UT. Fulmer stabs the AD in the back (sound familiar?), has the guy fired, then reneges on the deal with Leach.

I was hoping Pruitt would prove to be a good coach. It's looking doubtful.

I don't know, stats don't always tell the story. Nix looks like the real deal and probably has a higher ceiling than Fromm.

His stat line wasn’t great, but he definitely showed promise. If he put the stat line up against duke/GSU then that would be cause for concern. Leading a game winning drive against a ranked team is a decent way to start a career.

Sample Size way yonder too small on Nix.

We'll see.

UT definitely ain't no contender but Nix may wind up being better than Fromm. He played against a better opponent last night and Fromm looked downright pedestrian against a weak Vanderbilt team. As of right now I see Auburn as a favorite against Georgia

He wasn’t awful, but that last td pass is an easy as hell int of the DB doesn’t panic

He has talent but he looked very much like a freshman out there

Even more so at the same stage. Fromm first game and Fromm first game were that game vs a top ten opponent. He is more mobile and can absolutely turn a bad play into a good one.

As to UT being a contender in the east this year you need to lay off the bottle. LOL! They are only a contender in the sense that they were all undefeated til yesterday. The Vols will be back since they have the $$$ and the strong, strong desire to do so and wonderful facilities and a damn good recruiting area. Booming in state pop, Georgia, Carolina's, Virginia, and the midwest. And JP is a snake. With a python for a boss.

he didn't do that last night, and 42% completion pct against Oregon isn't encouraging for a reasonable Auburn fan.

Did you watch the game or are you just reading a stat line? Because it sounds like the latter.

Fromm had a backfield 100x better to fall back on and a better OLine

I will first say that Nix is a nice talent but he will cost Auburn a game or two this season.

Just lumps a Freshman will take while learning through the season.

He may get there eventually. But he's nowhere near where Fromm was in terms of reading defenses and coverage at the same stage.

I don't recall Fromm having to run for his life.

He showed a lot of promise for his first game as a ab. A lot of freshmen would have failed in the moment. But one game is too soon to tell if he will be great or mediocre

or passing efficiency. 42% against Oregon is bad.
