4600 Yards? New SEC record, as a freshman...redonkulus.

In two less games than the old record holder. Depending on the bowl game, Manziel might finish with over 5,000 yards of total offense... and he sat out for 12 quarters.

Wouldn't be shocked if it happens. People are sick of the SEC and if they can't beat them on the field then they will try to beat them in the off the field beauty pageant.

Would be a total travesty, but people don't care about overlooking a freshman because they'll say, eh, he can just win it next year. Which is total bullshite to be forced to win it twice to only put one on the mantle.

After 2004 I never want to see another SEC team not get their due because of the beauty pageant voting system. Save that judging shite for figure skating, it has no place in grown arse man football.

If it does happen, I hope Yeldon, Lacy or Gurley (whoever it ends up being) runs Manti over all night in Miami

Already looking like Manziel will be screwed.

Te'o winning will be a joke.

I agree with those that feel like the Maxwell award is the consolation prize. JFF still has good odds of winning

I think it's more about how he shite the bed in 2 of the 3 biggest games he played this season. All the rest of the defenses he played this year outside of those 3 teams were pretty shitty. On the other hand Teo and his fellow defenders showed up big time in their biggest games this season.

If Te'o wins it will be b Peyton Manning-like travesty.

Te'o stats:
103 Total Tackles (52 solo), 5.5 TFL, 1.5 sacks, 7 INTs

Kevin Minter's stats:
111 Total Tackles (48 solo), 13.5 TFL, 3.0 sacks, 1 INT, 1 FF

7 total tackles in a 3 overtime game against Pittsburgh.

I rest my case.

17 rushes for 27 yards and 3 int's against LSU.

I rest my case.

Also you act as if 1 game of only 7 total tackles is bad. The problem is you guys just continue to get caught up with stats. It's not all about numbers.

2 out of the last 12 heismans were Maxwell winners. It's a consolation prize given to the most emotional player on the most popularized team at the time. Manziel is still winning in the stiffarmtrophy update and the Scripps-Howard heisman poll has him winning it as well (they've called 21 of the last 25). He'll win. If he doesn't it'll be a travesty of the highest magnitude.

LSU = 10-2 and #8 in the BCS

Pitt = 6-6 and lost to Youngstown State by 2 touchdowns.

Your point is invalid.

If you take Te'O off of Notre Dame...they still win at least 10 games. He's not even the best player on his own defense. Shembo and Truitt are.

Or a better question:

If you put Johnny Manziel on Notre Dame and Manti Te'O on Texas A&M, do they still have the same records?

Yep and you also probably predicted they'd be a 6-6 team before the season started. The fact is he's not just a great college football player but he's an emotional leader which is what you need when your winning close ball games.

And if he wasn't a great football player then why the hell is he projected to go in the top 2 or 3 in the upcoming draft?

Nope actually my point is very valid. FOr Heisman contenders it's more about what you do against the elite teams rather than what you do against the average teams. Why the hell do you think Manziel is the frontrunner? Because he played well against the supposed best defense in the country. SHOWCASE GAMES AGAINST ELITE TEAMS>SO SO GAMES AGAINST AVERAGE TEAMS

Now I know you're smoking crack.

The highest I've seen Te'O projected was 7th in any mock draft...and that will probably drop once he goes to the combine.

Just because Skip Bayloser thinks he's "The next Ray Lewis" (who averages more tackles for loss per game than Te'O has all season), doesn't make it even close to true.

and lets face it the only reason you guys are obsessed with JFF winning the Heisman is because he plays in the SEC. IF aTm was still in the BIg 12 you wouldn't be defending him like you are now.

And please don't come with "well that's because he put up these numbers against SEC defenses" There's only 5 "SEC defenses" JFF faced 3 and blew against 2 of them. All those gaudy numbers were mostly put up against shitty defenses.

Kiper today on ESPN had him #2 on his Big BOard.
