JP actually had 2 games on occasion but I don't remember that ever happening. For example, Wiki says South Carolina @ Florida and Tennessee @ Arkansas were on JP the same day in 1999.

Occasionally, JP would show one game to part of the SEC, and the other game to the other part. They would do that with basketball, too. I'm guessing the Tenn-Ark game in your example went to the western half (and Tennessee) of the conference, and SC-Fla went to the eastern half.

J had multiple basketball games on IIRC. I can't recall them ever doing a non - noon football game.

I was there. I sat low in the north endzone. It was hot as ballz. Several of those bombs he threw felt like they were going to land in my lap. My date and I left after the 11th td pass with 2:30 left in the 2nd qrt. We went to a Mexican restaurant, drank margaritas and watched it rain like 7 inches.

I remember listening to Tom Hammond and Larry Conley calling a lot of basketball games for them. Jefferson Pilot also carried most of the SEC Tournament as well.

I know in 82 and 83 TBS carried games. Many of these were at night and there were some doubleheaders. I know Ole Miss played Tulane in Jackson at night on TBS in 82, and up at Tennessee at night in 83 when the Rebs pulled a 13-10 upset. It was 84 when TBS went exclusively SEC in the 11:30 CST slot.

LSU-Tulane in '83

This was the game where my friend's dad was drunk as shite and talking all kinds of shite to Tulane fans.

He was riding down an escalator and a Wave fan going up opposite reared back and punched him as he went past, breaking his nose.
