AU will not hire anyone with zero HC experience. He might be a great coach, but Roberts knows that would split the fan base totally apart. Just not the time after what AU went through will Harsin.

A name I haven’t seen mentioned yet is Andy Avalos, Boise State. Seems like a fit made in heaven.

According to quite a few posters Deion was supposed to be interviewed today.

This is the first I’ve heard. Not saying they won’t give him an interview. We’ll hear rumors over the next few weeks but we won’t know anything.

Auburn is not trying to hire a good coach. They want a yes man to the boosters.

No, the rumor was that Auburn would be meeting with some of his reps.

Grimes coached one of the best OLs in auburn history (2010) and recruited every starter on probably the best OL in auburn history (2013).

Neither of those lines were the best in AU history. Maybe best in the last 15 years but you have to consider what the pool looked like.

Not sure what to make of this Prime interview. He didn’t really answer the question either. Link

Agreed, AU can’t afford to experiment with someone that will be learning on the job. They have to go with P5 HC experience and preferably SEC experience. It’s almost like Hugh Freeze is the glaring choice and checks all the boxes for what y’all need.

Prime would actually be an acceptable choice due to his exposure, but I don't think it would happen. It is between Lane and Freeze right now, unless a big name pops up. Money is not an issue now.

I agree unless it is Dan Mullen or Matt Rhule.
Both could start immediately, although I will go OTR saying I hope it is neither.
If it is a coach with a current job, it will not happen until said coach's season is done.

I really want Hugh Freeze to go to Auburn.

That will be a nice addition to Saban, Kelly, Kiffin, and Leach in the West and make shite more interesting.

Prime brings another level of marketing and positive exposure. Does Auburn have the fortitude to take such a risk when Freeze/Kiffin are proven products?

A name that is out there and will be interviewed in some way. Again, there is a reason why he has gotten a lot of attention this year and NIL might make him hard to beat.
