The Auburn admin wants to talk with Bruce about the Person situation. He continues to decline the meeting. Auburn allows him to continue coaching despite his refusal to meet with his bosses about the issue. It’s the same situation short of how the 2 administrations have handled it. Auburn decided they wouldn’t let it be a distraction during the season, but you can bet they’ll force Bruce to meet with them as soon as the UNC game ends.
Bruce met with Auburn over a year ago, he specifically said he cooperated enough to keep his job. "We've complied enough to still be here, and I wouldn't be here coaching if there were greater problems."

So this is my point. Everybody knows Zion and other players are being paid. And being paid huge sums of money. (Zions offer to Kansas) So we have a system in place that everybody knows is in place. So the best teams that win championships are the ones that are best at not getting caught cheating.

Yes.. It's a filthy business

I mean, how many programs have had their head coach caught on an FBI wiretap talking about giving a player money?

If that makes you mad, Rohan, then don't even look at recruiting rankings for next year.

Arizona has the #1 class, even after being caught on a wire

Wade should be fired, but not sure LSU should be punished.

I think LSU should absolutely get away unpunished. I can't see that happening, but they shouldn't pay for this, especially not after all parties involved are gone.

I'm in this boat. Wade deserves punishment, he chose to directly communicate with a known agent/runner, and he had multiple discussions about negotiations for providing possible impermissible benefits to a recruit. He was an idiot and he should have to pay for his actions.

There is no way the LSU Administration or Compliance could've known Wade was stupid enough to talk this shite on his phone. LSU shouldn't have to suffer penalties or sanctions for Wade's actions.

Auburn

From Sports Illustrated article.

And yet Pearl’s rising program can’t seem to steer clear of controversy—even though Pearl says he had no knowledge of the misdeeds of former Auburn assistant Chuck Person (who pleaded guilty last week to accepting money from agents to steer players their way) or of the allegations against current assistant Ira Bowman (who was placed on leave a few days ago after being drawn into the investigation of an admissions scandal at Penn.)

Well they are awesome at cheating then.

LSU was supposed to have a very good incoming class.
I don’t see that happening now.

Vecc,
I’m really not mad. The hypocrisy and BS just becomes overwhelmingly obvious at times.

These guys (Bilas, Vitale, etc.) are very good at what they do,to get on TV and say what they say with a straight face.

This is Democrat politician good.

You're not wrong about anything, except maybe expecting CBB to be anything besides filthy. It wasn't so bad when kids could go straight to the NBA, but this system just screams for cheaters to prevail

They need to start letting freshman play in the D leagues or minor leagues or whatever they have so they don't have to go to college. I think that would eliminate much of the problem. Baseball does it the right way. If you choose college it is 3 years or 2 if you are old enough.

100% agree

If my kid had NBA talent, I would get him to play in Europe for a year after High School. I wouldn't even risk college

I think we all agree that the NCAA would prefer for all of this to just go away. That's definitely good for LSU

Jay Bilas is one of he very few people who stood up and backed the players and said the Duke Lacrosse story stunk to high heaven. He roasted the administration for their actions. He was 100% right.
