No offense, but Wade has made this situation worse.

The administration put LSU at the center of the controversy. Wade is doing the same thing Pearl is doing. And Bruce is doing it after already serving a show-cause.

And Oregon was mentioned in the FBI case.

Was Coach K caught on a wiretap talking about what they were offering Zion?

? Ummm, Pearl lied about a recruit attending a barbeque at his house. Wade straight up is on wiretap with evidence that he offered his players large sums of money. What part of that is the same???

I do agree, though, that the media have been hypocritical in that a LOT of other programs are doing the same thing Wade did and are being ignored for it.

How? It was Will Wade when reports broke that he got listened to. Then one of his players had to sit out because of questions regarding his recruitment.

We know more about Duke’s offer than we know about Wade’s.

Hey Moment,

I’m not defending LSU. If we broke the rules we should pay the price.
Period.

But everybody is doing it.
(Yes, there are exceptions)

I don’t believe it’s ok to cheat if you don’t get caught. JMO.

ESPN had a guest on the other day.
He said the AAU system begins paying players in high school.

He said, to win in college basketball you need the best players. (Coaching obviously helps)

He said to get the best players, you must pay them.

So....
Based on that information.

Should we be rewarding programs with Championships because the have the best teams, coaches, and players, or should championships be awarded to programs that are the best at not getting caught cheating?

Not to mention programs that get caught but still get away with it (UNC)

Not to mention the programs that the NCAA pretends aren’t cheating (Duke)

Brother, I agree with you 100% and would rather them in trouble over LSU.

I have to give Bilas credit though. He has been very vocally critical about hypocrisy with the NCAA.

Specific example: In 2013, when the whole Manziel autograph scandal started, Bilas famously got the NCAA's online store shut down because he proved that the NCAA was deliberately associating players with their jersey numbers and profiting off of it (search for Jadaveon Clowney directed customers to South Carolina #7 jerseys, Teddy Bridgewater to Louisville #5 jerseys, etc)

It amazes me a guy would even discuss this subject when his alma mater has 3 potential top 5 picks as freshmen. How can anyone reasonably think that these 3 players would not be getting paid yet it appears to be a rampant problem with other highly talented players.

Jay Bilas is also a Duke educated lawyer who has blasted his own alma mater in the past and who forgets more about basketball in a day than new-money LSU basketball fans will ever know
