I understand what you are saying, but SEC defenses are also overrated because they don't play many powerful offenses.
We all know Big 12 defenses are bad, but their offenses are really good. This isn't the PAC 12 where both the offenses and defenses are overrated.

Oklahoma had one of the worst Ds in the B12 and basically performed to our SEC opponents norms against us.
All that tells me is the SEC defenses pretty clearly suck.

We had one of the worst Ds in the entire nation, not just the BIG XII. Thank God those days are over.

How have SEC defenses fared against OU and Texas? Care to list the stats? Alabama, UGA, auburn, all burned over and over again.

2nd worst points per possession (ISU) and pts (Army).
So, they fared better than basically anyone else you played.

Plus after Alabama could have scored 100 pts on half the SEC teams we played, put almost 600 yards on mighty LSU and then scored a measly 16 vs Clemson.......can we really say the SEC has good defenses?

UGA basically gave TX one score and provided short fields on half of their drives. They still had their 4th worst scoring output of the season.
OU was outclassed by the Bama D.

Sec defenses got bashed as well in bowl games. Let’s face the facts Sec defenses are no longer unstoppable 5 9 inch Kyler Murray passed to 300 yards and ran for 100 . This is the new reality the big 12 offenses are just that good.
