Figures.
Better than stealing the laptop, isn't it?

The scouts at the camp think Austin Allen is the most "NFL ready" QB of the bunch. Not necessarily the best college QB, however.

He's a typical uneducated, racist trump supporter

Kid showed awesome poise last year.

Jordan Jefferson had rave reviews too.
Was Jefferson ever the SEC offensive player of the year? As a true freshman?

I don't often agree with you, but I do this time. As a bona fide Bammer, I hope the guy is All American and a Heisman winner, but I'll reserve judgement till he's actually facing a decent defense.
And I actually like Jalen Hurts fwiw. Seems like a good kid. And I'm on record stating he's a great college QB, and will go down as Bama's best QB in the modern era (although I don't think he's a good pro prospect)
I just think it's funny and a bit ironic to use a camp performance as "evidence" of his progression. We've all heard the term "practice warrior." For quarterbacks in particular there's a list a mile long of players who look like future hall of famers in camps and practices, but just don't have what it takes to translate thag talent to game day.
Jeremy Johnson from AU is a prime recent example of a QB that looked like a future top 5 draft pick in practice and dog shite on the field.
(In no way am I comparing Hurts to JJ, just saying don't get too excited over camps)

So much this.

Bama fans told Auburn fans that Jarret Stidham was shite despite a good showing in the spring game because that was just a scrimmage and he had a no contact jersey.
But a camp with no pads, wearing gym shorts, and no defenders is evidence that Hurts is the Heisman favorite?
Well that and the fact that Hurst was the SEC player of the Year and took his team to the title game but yeah, your comparison is TOTALLY correct

It's just drills. All this means very little. Proof will be on Saturdays this fall.

I think he will show vast improvement in the passing game, but I'm not ready to crown him based on what Archie Manning said. Year after year we hear about this guy and that guy killing it at the MPA and come SEC play they are dog crap like they were before. I'm holding on this one until I get proof.

Manning Camp is just another 7 on 7 Camp. Didn't Bama have another All-World 7 on 7 Camper last year?

The Texas QB is a true sophomore as well.

So basically you typed all of that out just to say what 20 others have said in this thread; camp performance doesn't matter.
Really enlightening stuff.

Damn and only one conference team was able to keep it within one score against Freshman Hurts. SEC is fricked
Posted on 6/29/17 at 9:34 am to Tidemeister
Why does Jalen Hurts look so small on TV when he's that fricking big.

Most everyone looks up to Bamas' o-line...

I love how bama fans are trying to make themselves believe he has miraculously changed over the last several months.

I like how you guys think it's impossible for a player to improve his game from his freshman to sophomore year. He doesn't have to be a great passer, he just has to be a decent one considering he was mediocre at times last year.
