First I would like to say to all Bama fans this in no way is a dig at your program or Jalen Hurts. I respect the hell out of Jalen Hurts and how he has handled his college career, he has done it with class and character the entire time.

I realize it was completely your decision to leave Bama and you could have stayed this year if you wanted to because Saban needed you.

But there is a reason you played your final year of eligibility at OU and that was because Saban didn’t think you were good enough to start, so you bolted “as you should have done.”

But Riley and OU did have confidence that you were a starter and gave you an opportunity to run the offense and try and win a Naty at OU. Don’t you owe them your loyalty at the end when they were there for you and not Bama?

I just feel it is disrespectful to the girl you went to the dance with “this year” with the dueling OU/Bama helmet it is no different than when getting the title for homecoming King to thank your date this year and your date last year at the same time.

Just disrespectful to OU and their fans, let the Bama players where their helmets and be proud of that. You on the other hand are an OU sooner this year be proud of that. Or maybe he isn’t

Nah. It was a business decision for Jalen.

It wasn't because "Saban didn’t think you were good enough to start..."

It's because he wasn't good enough to start...over Tua.

Jalen basically was a Saban-quote machine this year. Jalen went out of his way to thank all the Bama fans for their support during the CFP.

Jalen will probably always say he's a former Bama player, rather than OU.

You'll have to find some way to deal with that.

Dude he was 26-2 as a starter at Alabama, he was absolutely good enough to start. Tua beat him out for the job fair and square

What this says to me is Bama still has his heart.
Though he was pulled from the 17 National Championship for a poor 1st half performance, they won the game & he got a ring.
He was SEC offensive player of year his Freshman year.
He rescued Bama to win the SEC his Junior season.
Lots of memories there. Mostly positive over negative.

Without question.

Not sure what popped into the OP’s head for this to be a rational thread to start.

Or it was because A1abana fans and coaches treated him like shite.

quote:

“(Alabama) didn’t want me to talk for whatever reason,” Hurts said. “I get the opportunity to speak now, and I’ve always tried to handle situations like this and handle speaking the best way I can. At the end of the day, I’m a representative of myself and a representative of my family back home.”

Jalen Hurts' mother fires back after critical backlash from fans

quote:

Pamela’s remarks come following Jalen’s first media appearance since the national championship game in January. Saturday, the junior quarterback voiced his displeasure with how Alabama handled the media after he was benched during the second half of the Crimson Tide’s comeback victory over Georgia.

“This whole experience, ever since the (national championship game) they kind of let it play out. They kind of just didn’t think it was a thing, that y’all would let it die down like there wasn’t something there regardless of the elephant in the room,” Jalen said. “For me, no one came up to me the whole experience, coaches included. No one asked me how I felt. No one asked me what was on my mind. No one asked me how I felt about the things that were going on. Nobody asked me about my future, none of that. So now it’s like when we are kind of trying to mend the situation now it’s kind of late. It’s too late.”

That drew plenty of criticism from Alabama fans who criticized the quarterback, calling him selfish and soft.

Ok well he stated he was leaving so he could start, so how isn’t that the case?

Your rebuttal

quote:

It's because he wasn't good enough to start...over Tua.

Hmmmmm, can you see how stupid your comments are?

On the one hand you say, “he was good enough to start” and then on the other hand you say, “he left because he couldn’t start”

Pick one or the other gumpy, you can’t have both the point and the counter point! Doesn’t work that way in a debate!

quote:

Jalen will probably always say he's a former Bama player, rather than OU.

Which is why it is disrespectful to OU and Lincoln Riley for giving Hurts a chance. Saban said he wasn’t good enough to start “or let’s be real he would still be at Bama” and Riley said you are. I just thought with his character he would have done the right thing by OU

In case there was any confusion, Jalen Hurts is wearing an Oklahoma-only helmet at the #SeniorBowl. The Alabama/OU combo was just a gift.

Very cool for Jalen. Riley prepped him for the NFL, and he's part of the OU Bama family.

As an OU fan, do you feel disrespected in any way? Do you you think Riley feels disrespected?
