Cancel culture is real. No one should have a social media account.

Again, it isn't. Its painful for about a week and then the world moves on. Almost no one has been cancelled for more than a few months no matter what they did or said...it just seems like it.

Some folks who were close to being no longer relevant have come close but just as many in that position have seen a resurgence in their careers due to being "cancelled"....Fromm was about as irrelevant as a public figure could be at this point anyway.

That all being said why does ANYONE have a social media account? Simply having one and using it even on occasion speaks more to me about a person than any thing they could possibly say....its akin to having every passing thought blasted to the public.....unless the account is monetize somehow I don't see any upside to any of it. There are some things you just do not discuss in public among strangers....sex, religion and politics are among them....because it can only create problems and no one gives a tinkers damn what your thoughts on the subject are UNLESS they can act like you are an animal and make themselves feel good for a few minutes.

Yea, but right now all the focus is on one side. When will we start seeing the person to person texts/messages from black people doing similar stuff? Or do we just think those conversations do not exist?

A bad idea for almost anyone...employers and customers can and do look at social media....the last time I renewed my clearance I was interviewed about this subject....and the fact that I appeared to have NO presence on social media...no facebook, very little email etc......it raised a flag.

By the way, anything posted on these types of forums count also...if you use an email account and disclose that account to an employer or in some sort of background search all you gotta do is google the email account and you can find all sorts of posts on these types of forums.

Won't happen. There are protected classes in the SJW victim hierarchy. And in modern America, perceived racism is the only unpardonable sin.

So you would perfectly fine with someone publicly displaying the worst most fricked up thing you've ever texted, or said to a friend in confidence?

Should the content of a conversation not matter just because it was behind closed doors? Before even getting into reading the room and whatnot

But also, I wouldn’t be fine with it, but my best protection against it would be not doing something fricked up in the first place. Reaping what you sow is a part of life. If you don’t plant rotten seeds, you won’t be dealing with shite fruit

that's not at all the point.

The point is that you have said or texted things that you wouldn't want to be displayed publicly. We all have. If you deny that you have, then you are lying.

Well yeah, and if they got exposed, I’d have to face the consequences. The best way to minimize bad consequences is not to say and do fricked up shite.

The easiest way Fromm could’ve avoided this is to have not texted it in the first place. Him sending the texts in the first place is the only thing that set these wheels in motion.

I’m not crazy about exposing private conversations, especially only when it’s seemingly convenient for the leaker, but that doesn’t mean I’m just going to ignore what was said once it’s in the open either.

And seriously, who the frick brings up suppressors when trying to pitch some woo?

This is why Justin Fields got immediate playing time.

UGA: somehow more racist than Ole Miss.

Good point. Kirby did give him immediate PT, thus proving he isn’t racist.

There's been instances of black folks saying and doing stupid shite publicly and they have been called out for it. The thing is that no one is really cancelled for more than a few months regardless of what they have said or done. If they want to become relevant again and don't crawl in a hole and hide...and they were relevant to begin with...they will be again. Outrage, such as it exists today, is very short lived because it takes an enormous amount of energy and if you are bent that way there is something new to be outraged about coming along every few minutes....

Why wait a year to "leak" it? My guess is after sitting on it through his drop in the draft and no 1st round money to extort?

Maybe she’s going after that sweet State Farm money.

It’s fishy and seemingly definitely exploitative that she waited until a convenient time to leak, but does waiting a year do anything to change the actual content of the texts? Does her trying to end his career change the fact that he sent the texts in the first place?

Pretty sure she did it now because it gains the most traction possible. Not sure if this is true, but supposedly he isn't the only person she and her friends have tried to sink this week for various offenses.

He issued an apology, and said he isn't an elite white person so he lumped himself in with all kinds of other people.

The fact that he thinks that was a proper apology is pitiful. So he still believes it, but he just doesn't qualify yet? If he makes some millions in the NFL does he get his badge then?
