Clowney is good, but not a game changer like Fairley.

Really? So even the sack record holder was never stopped? He got a sack every time the other team passed? He was never blocked and 'Bama was never scored on?

Wut? I didn't say anything about CFB history so your jab is irrelevant. Did he or did he not run his arse over in that video I showed?
Stick to basketball.

So he tripped into him and knocked his helmet off and made him fumble. And still picked up the ball.

Damn he is awesome.

He is no Derrick Thomas, not even close. Who was the other guy y'all had that played with DT that was so good?

He's the best physical specimen at the position I've ever seen.

He seems to lack a mean streak that would make him terribly frightening. He can turn it on sometimes obviously, but most of the time going through the motions is enough for him it seems. Not that that isn't effective.

This is not a flame, I am sincerely asking. Does anyone think Clowney is overrated?

Obviously jadeveon is a physical specimen, but he's lazy, sloppy, takes series off and he tripped into his huge hit on Michigan.

He does have an on and off switch. He was taken out of the first half in that game vs Michigan because our DC could tell he wasn't given it all. That he was playing tired. Clowney took notice of that and shortly after delivered that hit, as well as another big hit on Robinson.

But its not like he is lazy, he has gotten bigger and faster in the offseason.

Think 21 sacks in 25? games speaks volumes about how good he is. He also gets doubled team on every play..

Yes, Derrick Thomas couldn't be stopped.

Sorry the greatest player in your history only likes to try on a couple plays every quarter.

Anyone could see how big of a difference year 1 to year 2 was for him. Can't wait to see how much better he is this year. Ask Georgia if Clowney is overrated.

This may sound crazy, but you can be near the top of your position or even sport and still be overrated. Being overrated doesn't speak to your talent level. It really doesn't speak to the individual in question really.

People on message boards, the media, etc... determines an individual's "overrated" status. I hear people talking about how Clowney is already the best pass rusher in the NFL (yes the NFL). There is no way that is true, thus people are "rating him too highly", even though he possesses a large amount of talent.
