He is a single player that changes the outcome of
games. That sack-strip against Tenn. might have
saved the game. Same with the Michigan game. He's a game changer and he is still developing.

So your saying Thomas got a sack on every pass play?

Don't have a dog in the hunt, but I have seen both play and DT could literally take a team completely out of rhythm by his self

I'm not even debating that Clowney is better than DT. I just think its absurd for anyone to say that anyone is an unstoppable player. In any sport.

You're spot on, "ratings" are determined by people's opinions. He's the most talented player in college football(IMO) but it'll be virtually impossible to live up to the hype people have put up about him.

Its all about making plays when everyone is watching. UNC to open up on Thursday night, UGA on ESPN the next week, if we make it to the SECCG.

He was one of the best players in the SEC WAY before this hit.

I think you could say Suh was very similar in this regard. Suh almost single handily won the Big 12 championship game a few years ago. That was probably the most impressive performance by a D lineman I've ever seen

Clowney is good, but not a game changer like Fairley.

Clowney is the epitome of a 'game-changer'.

I guess we'll really find out this year if he is overrated or not

This is not a flame, I am sincerely asking. Does anyone think Clowney is overrated?

He's never led the SEC in a single statistic. He finished behind Jarvis Jones in sacks two years in a row.

I don't think I've seen Jarvis Jones name on the rant 1/100th of the times I've seen jadeveon though?

Obviously jadeveon is a physical specimen, but he's lazy, sloppy, takes series off and he tripped into his huge hit on Michigan.

I'm hesitant to call him overrated; however, there are few things that indicate he isn't worth all the hype yet.

1. He gained 4.5 of his 13 sacks against Clemson. That's a significant percentage.
2. LSU, Tennessee, and Michigan had success versus the South Carolina D-line, lead by Clowney.

This is his last season, and barring a huge step back, a major injury, legal troubles, etc. he's a lock to be a Top 5 Draft Pick. Nevertheless, he hasn't fulfilled his enormous potential. Some guys can shut him down 1-1, and he could use some work on run blocking. His highlight games last season were Georgia and Clemson. No one wants to mention his bad games.

You completely ruin your credibility and the credibility of your thread with lines like this.

Listen, I'm only going to say this one more time. Please read it.

So it looks like the consensus is that he is a bit overrated?
