Clowney takes over games single-handedly. He throws offenses totally out of sync all by himself. It's not all about statistics when deciding how good a player is. It's about the impact they have on the game. No, I don't think he's overrated at all.

^^^^this.. I am not calling him the GOAT or anything, but it more than just stats. I can't tell you how many times QB's have rushed throws because they know he is coming. Murray looked over his shoulder several times like he never normally would right off the snap and Tajh Boyd (Mr Pre-season Heisman) was absoloutely scared shiteless no matter what he says. He was throwing balls way to quick and constantly looking away from his wrs and looking over his shoulder. He did not do anything after the first quarter, which happens to be that same as, he did not do anything after Clowney got to him. He IS in their heads whether they admit it or not and everything he said at SEC media days is just the truth. 2 of the best QB's in the game played terrible against us and no matter how many sacks he had, they knew he was coming and were out of their element.

^^^not a sack, but he rushed the shite out of this throw bc he looked over his shoulder and saw this.

Do me a favor... post up Jones' first two years stats and lets compare.

You want to compare a Jones' redshirt sophomore season to a Freshman Clowney (who wasn't even the starter) and Jones' redshirt junior year where he barely beat out Clowney in his second year removed from HS? Sounds like a fair comparison...

, but he's lazy, sloppy, takes series off and he tripped into his huge hit on Michigan.

I see he edited to remove this stupid arse comment.

The fact that OP thought this for even a second makes his opinion worthless to me.

Moving along.

If he played at Bama I don't think the rest of the nation could stand hearing about how great JC is.

What does Bama know about Clowney they have never faced and more than likely won't ever. Good ole SEC scheduling.

Yes I am, our D this year would be sick with him coming off the edge and from the jack.

I do think he would have been more productive here though. Better coaching, less ability to solely key on him, confusion that blitzing out of the 3/4 with his hand off the ground can bring. Plus I feel like Saban is a big enough a-hole to get him to quit taking plays off.

Just an opinion, and depending on his ability to play with his hand off the ground.

He's obviously an incredible talent, but yes I think he's slightly overrated. For people to start saying he's the best player in the entire sport is insane.

Yes he's overrated. Yes he's still the best in college football at what he does. He's just not quite the superman people make him out to be.
