Texas A&M football coach Jimbo Fisher jabbed Alabama coach Nick Saban on Wednesday, claiming the Aggies would defeat Saban's Crimson Tide.

"We're going to beat his arse when he's there, don't worry," Fisher said to a crowd at the Houston Touchdown Club, according to audio from the Houston Chronicle.

quote:

"Eventually, that's going to be us," Fisher told the Touchdown Club. "I respect everything they do and how they do it, but we can do it just as good or be just as good or better, and we will."

Aggies junior offensive lineman Kenyon Green shared in his coach's excitement for the Oct. 9 meeting between Texas A&M and Alabama.
"Our coach is confident in our team, and I'm confident too," Green said. "We're going to go out there, and we're going to play our game, and we're going to give it our all."

quote:

Texas A&M defensive end DeMarvin Leal believed Fisher's original comments could light a fire under the team that could propel the Aggies to meet lofty preseason expectations.
"My reaction is just that Jimbo has the most confidence in us, and he knows what we can do, and he knows how we're going to do it," Leal said. "His comment, I just loved it because it shows how much he believes in us, and it shows having a coach like that to stand behind you, and it matters a lot."

I've been waiting for this thread, we need a breakdown of how much Jimbo gets paid per victory.

$883.6k per win

$7.5 x 3 + $7.5 x 5/12 = $25,625,000 salary

29 wins

ETA: after losing to Bama, it will be $905k per win.

Didn't seem like they "gave it their all" against Arky or State. Their anuses are about to be gaped by an ape.

What a lack of respect calling their coach by his first name. Total dumpster fire.

It’s going up next year unless they find a QB in the portal.

Well the savior is coming back soon.. :)

Missouri does have a 2 game winning streak against them too.. and they play them the week after getting embarrassed by Alabama..

They may not reach .500 if they lose that game..

4-0 against the sisters of the blind & deaf
0-8 in the SEC

That sounds like a good melt. I vote for that.

Jimbo will run the clock down on offense to a second or two every snap to try and limit possessions. Heavy dose of running game.
