I guarantee if the Union said "bow to all our demands but you get to keep slavery", there wouldn't have been a civil war

Give me a break with all this other nonsense

There is absolutely no reason to still argue over the causes of the Civil War. Just go and read your states Letter of Secession , or look up the Declaration of Cause of the Seceding States. It's all right there in black and white, pun intended

If you are too narrow minded to look at the intent then yeah you're right. But the truth is that the civil war was coming regardless of slavery. Slavery was just the point that people were ready to die at.

We don't say it. Southern politicians did.

Go read the secessionist papers published by several states as their justifications for why they seceded. Count the number of times slave, slavery, blacks, negro, or related terms are referenced. It's at least over 60 times.

Also, read the CSA constitution.

Also, get some CSA money.

There's slavery all over both.

These two sentences contradict each other. Either the war was coming regardless of slavery, or people were only willing to put their lives at stake over protecting or abolishing the institution of slavery. Which was it?

Two of the thirteen stars represent Missouri & Kentucky: who gave tens of thousands of lives, fighting for Southern Independence.

Really don't think I'd brag about that.

That is called a fact, not a brag.

Missouri was also the only state willing to step up and provide a home for homeless Confederate soldiers. They were still Americans you know.

Another fact I would be reticent to post. But, a fact nonetheless

it is interesting that you get all worked up about the Confederate flag but you first in line to vote for a party that still goes by Democratic party. lol

a curious selective outrage. lol that flag is the devil but nothing wrong with voting for a party with same name that it had when it created that flag.

In context, it's a brag. Brags can in fact include facts.

Dang Tillman, I know you're an engineer but I can't begin to fathom how you designed and built a strawman this big

If you only knew

This is right up there with "Hillary Clinton killed Vince Foster," "The UN is organizing to take away national sovereignty," "George H.W. Bush is a member of the Illuminati," "Vaccines cause autism!" and several other lunatic fringe conspiracies. Good to see you living up to your namesake's ability to creatively interpret reality.

ad hominem attack and obvious dodge of my very astute observation of Democrat hypocrisy on the Confederate flag.

Why aren't you mad that your party won't change its name? It isn't hard to change the name.

WHy is the flag a bad thing but the Democratic party name is fine to use? The Democrat party enacted the racist parties and pushed for the Civil War. You want to have it both ways which is the SOP for Democrats.

btw, i don't care about the confederate flag, or want it flown anywhere. It is fun to point out to liberal virtue signalers that they vote for the historic party of racism with no problems and they never advocate it change its name.
