The SEC will be mocked from all sides for this. We'll be the only major conference not playing 9 conference games.

Vandy can just keep playing Northwestern or Wake Forrest every year like we have been doing all along. Sweet!

Everyone was doing that already, aside from A&M. This vote was retarded, it changes nothing and only makes the league look weak.

Then why'd we need a rule?

I don't know bout ATM's scheduling but Vanderbilt hasn't and they will be hurt by this. Their schedule has been shameful even for a team to trying to pull themselves up by their proverbial bootstraps.

If those games count as major this rule is a joke. No flame but that's the damn truth.

I remember when the longhorns got a little success and started throwing their weight around unfairly to the detriment of the conference.

There's only so many truly "major" teams.

Soooo basically everyone has to schedule like UT and UGA as well as UF with their OOCs. I like it.

Last time I checked they represent the Big 10 and ACC Conferences respectively.

That's BCS conference teams. If the ACC passed a similar rule do you think one of their teams couldn't play Vandy?

So that this announcement can pretend to be anything other than "we aren't changing shite."

I'm sure that there will be waivers of the rule when games "fall through" at the last minute.

So I'm getting the impression that overall one side of the conference tends to schedule higher quality opponents consistently than the other side.

A&M did not play a team from the other power leagues the past 2 seasons, as far as I can tell.

Had a certain school in the state not been a gaping vagina, that would have been solved.
