What do you think NIL is?
You're very confused apparently.

Reality and facts disagrees with you.

It was much cheaper than NIL.

So, Saban/Bama was the only school paying athletes under the table, and no other school had donors putting up money to get players until NIL? Okay.

Never said that, but I will say the perfected the system. NIL money will take away from legal donations for infrastructure. A few schools will be able to do both, but Bama will not long term. The under the table money was a fraction of what will be needed to pay recruits. The Tua's of world will want more than what he got to attend Bama. Just the facts of College Football and coaches know it.

Not confused, NIL is above the table payment to a player. In the past a few hundred thousand to a family member or the player would guarantee enrollment. Now it will cost much more. The A&Ms of the world will be able to have their alums just write the check, while also building the infrastructure to convince other players to come. 90% of CF will not be able to have their cake and eat it too.

I will add that LSU has been on a hot streak since that went down.

As has OU, as has Bama and as has Texas. It’s almost like A&M is going to fall back down the pecking order once OU and Texas join.

I love how worried our friends at LSU are about A&M recruiting.

Do you seriously think college football will survive if 90% can’t compete ?

Is the same as payment to players in the past. The open market = the same as the under the table market.

How much they are WILLING to spend. No one is going to outspend the same schools that have always outspent: Alabama, Ohio St., Oklahoma, Texas, etc.

Again you're about to be severely disappointed if you're expecting this to be a titanic shift from the same schools that have always dominated.
You're going to continue to see the same names.

Not even close to the payments from the past. If a player was spending big dollars or family members has new cars or houses, they red flags would pop up. Today due to NIL, that is SOP. There wasn't a true open market in the past, not every program participated at levels that some programs had.

Some of those schools cannot compete at a dollar level with the A&Ms and UTs of the NCAA.

Not going to be a titanic shift short term. But Longterm the status quo will not be able to keep up. Can Bama bring in $20M per year for NIL and still have money for other projects. A lot of Schools can compete with NIL alone, but not support the rest of the AD. The yearly requirement will get very tiresome for those contributors who the Universities really depend on. The nickel and dime NIL programs I see are laughable long-term.

No, and neither does Saban. That is why I don't disagree with Saban on this issue. I just think he takes it more personal than I do and how it will affect his program.

So, Bama, perhaps the most dominant college football program in the history of college football, with all of its changes, will suddenly not be able to compete due to NIL? Okay.

I love these threads where it just shows a true obsession about A&M or just how stupid the poster is trying to talk recruiting smack in August or both.

How many of those recruits have actually signed up?
