A segment on ESPN Get Up yesterday, the entire panel unanimously slammed Kiffin’s position. McElroy scoffed at his attempt to lay this on his players council. Joey Galloway decried the rule-bending and search for loopholes. Dusty Dvoracek was sympathetic to the players in this situation but was even more adamant than the other panelists about the need for rules. Said something like “if a conference can’t enforce its own rules, what are we even doing here?” while shaking his head in disgust.

Kiffin is on an island here.

Well, as you can see, lot of Cajun downvotes, but silence in terms of actually giving someone in the media in support.

Bruh, 15 other universities don’t think it’s okay. The SEC is a voluntary entity for members. I really just cannot fathom how people don’t understand this. It’s not the 5 year rule, it’s the fact of signing a Pro contract. It’s really not that complicated.

And yet multiple other SEC coaches have said this week if they have the option to add additional players they will.

So your position is that if there is an injunction today, LSU will be the only SEC school to roster one of these players??

If so, were the other SEC coaches lying? That won’t meet the purity test suddenly pushed here by the board’s loudmouthed dimwits.

Calling them that doesn't sit right with me. The players in question here never played. Not even pre season.

That’s a fair viewpoint. But the rule is a bright line: if you sign a pro contract, you’re a pro. And we all know what happens when you start bending rules and looking for loopholes in this area. You’ll end up with endless disputes about how many practices someone did, or for how long, or how many games he played, etc etc.

I’ll be honest: I feel bad for Xavian. He signed, but recovery from surgery kept him from doing anything else. Never got paid. Never practiced. But none of that is true about Dae’Quan.

I think they are referring to the players who are just seeking to have the new 5-5 rule applied retroactively, not to players who signed pro NFL contracts. I don’t sense as much opposition to the former; but pretty much the whole sports world outside of Redstick is staunchly opposed to pros coming back to college.

Screw you for calling that to my attention. Now I’m gonna need years of therapy and a pack of support animals.

You then you affirm, no other SEC school will attempt to roster one of the “former NFL pros” if there is an injunction today?

Has any other coach/school actively added a player that has signed a player whom signed a Professional contract(in football)? No. If that were the case, id be saying the same about them too.

If it were up to me, of course.

And here’s a funny (but unlikely) twist. What if the judge says they can’t enforce the pro player rule. But he doesn’t invalidate SEC’s intra-conference transfer rule (which strictly limits transfers within the conference to the January portal window). That would mean these players’ only option to play in college would be with the team they were on in January. Guess who that is. lol.

LSU hasn’t added one of these players to its roster, either.

Kiffin said he will if the players are eligible, just as other SEC coaches have.

It’s crazy how so many people can’t resist commenting on this when they clearly don’t even know the basic facts.

Added (having a roster spot) and signed are two different things. But, I guarantee if everything goes in LSUs favor, their names would be on the official roster report tomorrow. Why else would yall serve a TRO and be fighting this so hard? Let’s be real here…

Yeah, bc no other players have EVER been rostered or played games in the SEC bc they were ruled eligible by the judiciary against the NCAA’s wishes.

Fair to disagree with it

I disagree with the SEC choosing to enforce some rules and not others. I’m against people distorting facts to fit their narrative. All members and fans should. Want to make LSU and Lane villains? Fine. Just educate yourself first and do so based on the facts.
