Kiffin said that he has no intention of defying any SEC rules, which are being contested pending a court hearing on Thursday.
"So we'll wait till this week to see if there's any more guidance," Kiffin said, regarding that court hearing. "And the question whether myself as the head coach of football and will football follow SEC orders? … Of course, we will."

"There's no intent nor there ever was to play somebody that we're not supposed to over an SEC rule," Kiffin said.

quote:

"The SEC had a stance, made a rule. The judge felt that they couldn't do that to the players. We'll be practicing, focused on Clemson and spending our time on that all week. They can figure out the rest, and we'll just wait for guidance."

So it was all a publicity stunt? To get “the brand” out there.
What a dweeb.

I wouldn’t be surprised if either a.) you actually believe that, or b.) don’t understand.

The hilarity is how LSU lives in an alternate reality.

Some fool on the Tig rant actually thinks that the college football world is divided over this. Haven't seen any poll not showing fans overwhelmingly against it. Your univ. prez didn't even have the balls to vote against Sankey.

I mean even talking heads, I haven't seen one come out in support of Kiffin. At best, he gets an "It's not really his fault, the NCAA allowed this mess to happen."

Ole Miss fans probably are.

I don't think anyone else really cares.

I can say I think Pete Rose shouldn't have bet on baseball without hating Pete Rose.

I can say McGwire shouldn't have taken roids without hating McGwire.

Lane doesn't have the track record for most of the college football elite teams to be that worried about him.

Again, there's nothing in the ruling that says it's just this year for players who sign NFL contracts. Right now, if they still have eligibility, they can do the same thing next year and use that ruling to come back. And let's be honest, the same coach who proactively contacted and recruited players who signed NFL contracts this year will do it next year if he can.

Yeaaa, the last week on this board and the hundreds of threads on Kiffin and LSU over this truly prove no one really cares.

Exploiting loopholes to get the best players you possibly can makes him a dweeb? Was bear bryant a dweeb too?

If kiffin does this at OM it’s back page news. I haven’t seen fear like this since saban went to bama. Everyone knows whats about to happen in BR, just let it happen and quit fighting so much. It’ll hurt much less.

That’s is exactly the point.

There are 300+ athletes seeking a 5th year. LSU is connected with 3.

Many other schools are signing former pros - Texas included. All of the conversation is about LSU.

Yup, and the multiple other SEC coaches who’ve said they will add players like Kiffin if they can.

The original post said cared about Kiffin leaving Ole Miss and coaching LSU like we're all scared of that.

I don't think anyone cares. Lane had a program with the same kind of resources as LSU before and was fired on the tarmac.

I'm just saying that no one should feel like this is for sure a homer higher.

He lost to UK and UF two years ago with the best starting 22 he ever had at Ole Miss.

Polls on fans wanting players who signed with NFL teams coming back to play in college is like 90 percent against almost anywhere you look. So, yes. No one likes the fact he's pushing this. But that's not because he's Kiffin, or left Ole Miss, or coaching LSU. Most fans don't want guys were actually on an NFL payroll coming back to college.

It’s not just the 5th year thing. It’s the flagrant disregard for the rules against bringing a pro NFL player back to college.

Then you must not be paying attention or surround yourself with low IQ people who “hate” LSU.

There’s plenty of support from the media. Intelligent people can see the issue is the NCAA, not LSU. And you do realize there are more schools doing this than just LSU, right? Or are you that stupid?

This is so ridiculous. Kiffin says he is seeking “guidance” from the SEC to make sure he follows all the rules. The SEC has already “guided” him as clearly as possible: YOU CANNOT BRING A PLAYER BACK TO COLLEGE FROM THE NFL. PERIOD. That’s the SEC guidance.

If he wants to follow the rules, all he needs to do is make a statement that he will not roster or play any athlete who has signed an NFL contract. The fact that he’s not doing that, tells you he’s outright lying about wanting to follow the rules.

Well he hasn't even coached a game and

#1 high school recruiting class

#1 portal class

#1 NFL portal class.

And contrary to propoganda. 3 other schools spent more on their roster than LSU. It reeks of fear of whats to come. So sad because I had a lot of respect for Kirby. But its obvious he ran to your AD and cried like a bitch about it. If nobody cares why is it a big deal? LSU has recruited well in Georgia

According to On3 composite:

You finished 12th in recruiting last year.

This year you are currently 10th.

Do you mean in the state of Louisiana? You probably were first in the state.

Since it's become a bidding war, I don't even follow recruiting so I don't know who you have signed in Georgia.

Not supporting:

Josh Pate
Finebaum
Pete Thamel
R. Davis
Herbstreit
I could go on....

Who you got supporting? Legit question.

I'd give a listen if it's not just your Locked On LSU podcaster.
