Auburn fans aren't bad. Bama fans are pretty awful. One impressive but odd thing is that they both support the other extremely well.

The foothills of the Appilchians and sugar sand beaches that are overrun with lsu flags in the summer. Gotta love it. As a resident of the Birmingham metro area, I can be in the smokies, gulf shores/the emeralds coast of Florida, Atlanta, New Orleans, and Nashville all under a 5.5 hour drive. Maybe not the epicenter of cultural greatness but I can be anywhere and do just about anything in my backyard.

It's amazing that if any other fan base started an exact thread like this about Louisiana, it'd probably get anchored or they'd get banned.

Spot n my friend. I am from south Louisiana and went to Ole Miss and have lived all over in the Navy but in the southi have lived in Alabama, Florida, Louisiana, and Mississippi and absolutely loved each and everyplace I lived in the south. The entire South is gorgeous to me, I love the people everywhere.

Now let's talk about real issues. I lived in Detroit for 2 years on a coastguard exchange tour. We went to the mall, my pregnant wife, my 2 year old son and I, and I said, "Merry Christmas" to an elderly woman who had more packages than she could carry. She said nothing back and just put her head down!Being a southerner I asked if she needed help getting her packages to her car, she dropped 2 packages and ran to her car with what shehas a grip on at the time. I waited outside the mall watching her packages so nothing would happen to them while she did return in her car and gathered them like I was going to rape her! I was with my heavily pregnant wife and 2 year old son at this time! She jumped out of her car got the packages and hauled arse. My wife and I knew we were now in a foreign country! That was 35 years ago! So give me the south anytime.

As for me I say Roll Tide! If not the Tide the GEORGIA bulldogs, even that tastes icky! Lol.

I'm just glad we don't live next to "Lousyana". We have the good folks of Mississippi between us.

I like living in Alabama. The Southern part of the State is flat as a pancake and over-run with Deer and Turkey to hunt.

The Northern half of the State has Mountains,Canyons, waterfalls, and Caverns.

The vast majority of people here would help a stranger because it's the right thing to do.

Just like any other State there are ignorant people here that make Alabama look bad.I think that can be said of any State though.

If it weren’t for needing to be around my family in south GA, I would strongly consider retiring next year in north Bama. Nice scenery and very affordable. I haven’t read much of anything that’s negative about the Huntsville area.

I’ve been damn near everywhere in Alabama.

I also did qual. in Ft. Polk, and I can say without a doubt that Leesville and Shreveport are the top two scummiest, dirtiest, shitholes I’ve ever been in. And that includes rival shitholes Barstow, CA and Najaf, Iraq.

I can only conclude that Louisiana is one of the two states in the union (the other being Mississippi) that can actually be improved upon by funneling illegal immigrants from Mexico.

Alabama is also known as The Hospitality State. Like all fan bases, we have our bad apples, but overall, the Alabama faithful are a fine, welcoming bunch.

Can’t spell Tuscaloosa without Class.

Can’t spell Crimson Tide without Nice.

No, actually it's nice to live there. Coastal areas/beaches across the southern portion; lots of rivers, streams, and lakes for fishing. Deer, turkey, dove, and quail everywhere. Cheap land, low taxes and cost of living. Some hills in the north, which is a couple hours from Nashville and Atlanta.

Lots of competitive football too.

It's not. Truth is almost every southern state is better living in than Louisiana just simply due to the tax situation here. We pay state income, property tax and any other tax they can find. Then they stop the one thing that actually helps families like me with four children TOPS. I have a daughter who just started HS this year in the early college option which is cool. She'll graduate HS with a n associated degree in humanities. She takes all honors courses and is doing very well. She would have easily qualified for TOPS but it is not going to be an option any more. Our great governor decided to cut the budget by eliminating that program and releasing 1900 "nonviolent " prisoners back into society.
