Let us say that happens. Does it take the wind out of LSU's sails early in the season? Yeah, it kinda does. But they still have a manageable season. Maybe they don't make the playoffs but they still can post a very respectable season off of this and position themselves to be a top contender next year.
Bear Bryant went 5-4-1 his first season at Alabama and I daresay the Tide fans don't wish he had been fired after that.

We get it. Bama still gets the benefit of the doubt in polls. It’s what got them into the playoff they didn’t deserve to be in last year, and they scored a total of 3 points against Indiana.

Hell of a difference in 1958 and 2026.
Maybe Kiffin should have a Junction style training camp and install the wishbone.
Kiffin will get ripped majorly if he finishes the equivalent of 5-4-1 this year.
