Is winning the cotton bowl bad luck?

Ole Miss wins it twice in a row and then spend the next two years not going to a bowl game
LSU wins it and then has a dream season except for the game that mattered most where they were crushed and looked like they didn't belong. While LSU was able to maintain their relative success they haven't won a bowl game since which used to be almost automatic for miles.
Arkansas won the last cotton bowl then went from #8 to not bowl eligible.
Does aTm fall victim to this trend? If Jff is on the SI cover next year i'm thinking they don't become bowl eligible. I'm glad aTm beat the sooners though an OU loss is worth watching the aTm collapse.

If what happened to LSU was a curse, I guess I could live with winning 13 games, including an SEC championship....wait, who's the Bama doppelganger we lose to in this situation?

This is the first time that A&M has won bowl games in back to back seasons since 1939-1940.

9 of the last 10 Cotton Bowls were won by the SEC. That one loss? Arkansas.
In fact... 9 of the last 11 Cotton Bowls have been won by the SEC. The other loss? Arkansas.

I'm not sure which is worse getting just humiliated all season or looking like world beaters with everything going your way and you get crushed under the brightest of lights, embarrassed with the world watching.

Doesn't appear that losing the cotton bowl is nearly as bad for a program as winning it. Probably jus5 smarter than everyone else until last year when kstate came out and looked like a joke out there.

LSU had the greatest regular season in the history if college football after winning the cotton bowl. So by your logic, that was all a big joke by the Cotten bowl curse for LSU to lose the bcsnc. Poor us, what a curse we lose the national championship game.

He's an Arky fan. Can't waste a post by not trolling LSU. It feels good though. Mark of relevance which is more than Arky can say even in a good year.
