Are you under the impression that only graduates of a university can attend that university's athletic events?

Are you under the impression that 25 straight losing seasons (1983-2007) generates a lot of sidewalk fans?

The N.O. Saints did.

by the way, LSURussian, those photos are amazing. Though I was born and raised in South Georgia, I love the winter while living in the north.

I hate how the bowl system is all about what team sells the most tickets. I would rather the best teams play in their best bowls. But its all about money. What can you do about it

Irrelevant when it comes to ticket sells. I am not hating on Vandy. I think the team deserves a better bowl game, just saying the lack of a large traveling fan base is why it won't happen.

I'm a huge Saints fan, but this comparison is ridiculous. The Saints coming back to New Orleans was a symbol for hundreds of thousands of people that their city would survive at a time when people were saying that New Orleans should just be abandoned. Vandy is more like Tulane than the Saints. But with a better football program.

But the actual trip part is solid. Birmingham is a cool place.

I've followed UK to two bowls in that stadium and both were dismal, even though the Cats won one of them. Bowls at that level should be eliminated. Would Vandy even make a profit by going?

whatever money Vandy makes from their bowl game is besides the point compared to their share of the SEC's annual pie.

For Vandy they should think carefully before refusing any bowl because if they stay at home they don't get extra practices and they are still a program that needs to maximize every little advantage they can

Birmingham! You are over selling it. Decent place if you've never left the state of Alabama. It's a hilly version of Macon.

The only Chick fil a Vandy deserves is a sandwich. The bowls are and always have been about the money, and Vandy doesn't fill the seats or pull in the television ratings.

The only similarity between Vandy and the Saints is the color of the uniforms.

In any event, Birmingham does have some cool places if you investigate with the locals.
