I can’t think of anything more impactful than paying for school, especially college. The return on investment and quality of life will pay dividends for the rest of the beneficiary’s life.

Damn bro? How old are you and how long has it been since you hired someone right out of law school?

In Normandy drink the cider and calvados. You will be fine.

We just need a commuter train to the beach…

Of course, if the stories remain as politically motivated as they have, it won't matter.
As long as the story is good, I generally don’t care, but wow, this finale was just weighed down by political messaging. No subtlety or nuance to it. I hated it.

Easy. You just need to bill 3000 hours a year.

My effective federal tax rate is way over 20% and my accountant told me to donate more money to charity.

I guarantee there was more than a football team’s worth of sailors on the bridge. A dozen of them watching it unfold with collision alarms screeching.
This happens all the time and it’s shameful. Read the accident investigation from the John McCain collision and you can see the level of competence the USN puts to sea. There are others, but that one shows almost comical errors.
I am guessing, but if you spelled it out La Passe Christianne, and you pronounced it with a french accident you would land pretty close to the target.

Flooding of the Colosseum was real. And apparently they could do it relatively quickly. The sharks were a big issue. They could have used Nile Crocodiles like they actually used in the Colosseum and had the same general effect.
This only would have happened in the 80s CE. Once the hypogeum was built underneath in 90 CE by Domitian, this would have been impossible. The last recorded naumachia in the Colosseum was 89 CE, and this movie was set over 100 years later.
Every scene of this movie was cringe. It’s like it went out of its way to be historically inaccurate. Gladiator I wasn’t accurate, but wasn’t insanely so.

Why not just turn the water off at the street, then let the faucets run dry before going to sleep. No water, no freeze. You get one flush out of the toilet in the morning, then you go turn the water back on and start your day.

The AI in response to conditions in the Silo, but what I don’t get is why it takes so long. If they aren’t turning the light on the key for the Head of IT, what’s taking so long for the poison gas?
As a person with a barely normal BMI I don’t find a 2 min dead hand to be extraordinarily challenge.
It’s uncomfortable, but I tried today and was able to hit 2:05 without really digging deep.
Like most of these tests, they are fun and interesting ways to look at general fitness. This one seems to really penalize overweight people.

Picked up Apple again and am enjoying S2 of Silo. So far, if we're getting that there are 50 + 1 known Silos, that does make for some fascinating scenarios going forward.
The 50+1 thing between the mayor and Kyle seemed pointed, and with the voice in the tunnel, I bet this is the entrance to the 1.

still don’t understand, though, why you think English is mostly derived from French.
I thinks it’s evident when you see French written. I asked chat gpt for a sentence using English cognates. This is what it gave me.

I see a lot of overlap there.
Second example:

I just think it’s so neat that a meter cubed of water is 1000 kg. So clean and simple. Meanwhile, a cubic foot of water is 62.41 pounds, which makes clearly renders any calculations more difficult.

I stayed there once. I thought it was nice, and I had a balcony. I also like the Park Hyatt by Central Park.

Quick check of their website shows 8 doctors. So each doc gets $50 million? Something is fishy here
I wouldn’t be surprised if there is a lot of interest and penalties in that number.
Also, how many years of income does that cover?
As noted below, these are complicated surgeries. If pimple poppers are making millions a year, how much should a best in class plastic surgeon who gave up a decade of his life to training make? Probably a lot.
