We have a lot more going for us recruiting-wise too.

Fulmer landed a 4th and 3rd ranked class in two years leading up to 07.

See, we have more money than most SEC programs stashed away from when Damon Evans used to spend nothing. Money will not be a problem in keeping coaches. Only HC opportunities

Um, what about this staff or this set of young players makes you think that we'll have an epic UT-07 downfall? Other than the popular "Richt is a mediocre coach" theory? Please be specific.

I hope Richt sticks around, but imo he still has a lot to prove as far as showing he is in it for the long haul. He did a nice job on the recruiting trail last year, but he can't get satisfied just because he finally fielded a solid team.

Dude, he has been here 10 years and this isn't his first good team. 07, 05, 04, 03, 02 were all good if not very good teams

Richt will be headed into next season 7 years removed from a conference title, with back to back mediocre seasons just a year in the rear view. One year of taking advantage of a piss poor east does not show much, he needs to get his guys back to playing like they were when UGA was a real contender nationally. Yesterday was a glimpse of it, but until they do that week in and week out, I would be skeptical.

Except it does. UGA fans' biggest gripe with RIcht is that he doesn't win every game that he should. He has done that this year, and was an INT removed of beating Carolina. It is an 8 win streak against major rivals that, despite having down or average years, still pose a road block for UGA to get by mentally. We did that this year. It might be that you have to be a UGA fan to understand the frustration that we've had in this regard, but trust me when I say that the excitement we have is a result of our winning the games that we know we are supposed to win.

To illustrate my point, just look at this factoid: last time we beat UF and UT in the same season was 1987. Last time we beat UF, UT, and Auburn in the same season was 1981. This is an extraordinary feat, no matter how average the level of competition is

Van Gorder was good but not great as a UGA DC.

VanGorder was a good DC, but not great. He had Pollack, Boss Bailey, Thomas Davis and a few other that made his D look good.

I hope so. I love his record against Auburn. Also unlike most reactionary, easily manipulated UGA fans I think he is headed in the right direction with Grantham in charge of the defense. There is room for improvement of course.
