Isn't 1990>1980?

And the Nerds record vs UGA since 1980: 10 wins. 30 losses.

Never see it in the media anymore. Super lopsided. I dont even hear my UGA friends in Atlanta mention this game much anymore. They should rename it Clean Old Fashioned Indifference

Most Georgia fans don't give it a second thought. I mean, we definitely don't want them to ever beat us, because when it does they gloat and act dumb. (Kind of like we will do if we ever beat Alabama again.)

But a lot of UGA fans put that rivalry way down the hate list these days.

when you win 9 out of 10 it clearly isn't a rivalry. In that situation one is elite, the other mediocre.

You have to be in the same stratosphere to be rivals.

It's not just the lopsided on field results. Tech used to be as much a regional good ol boy school as the rest of us. But now it's really an elite institution of international regard. The student body is from everywhere and they scatter to the winds after graduation. So you're much less likely to have a tech grad live next door to you, work with you, go to church with you, be in your klavern (i kid) etc.

As a personal example my brother in law is a tech grad but he lives in seattle and he couldn't tell you one damn thing about tech football. my sister in law is a tech grad but she is Asian, and she couldn't tell you one damn thing about football, period. (My sister in law is super cool btw and hot too).

You and I have a different definition of rivalry.

If a UGA fan ever pulls for Georgia Tech in a game, I would start to question the rivalry.

That never happens.

Now... auburn and alabama? LoL

What do you do when AU and Tech play? Pull for the underdog.

No. Usually a tornado or earthquake. Sometimes double forfeit.

This is 100% true. When I started with my current company after moving back to Georgia from South Carolina, there was an Asian coworker wearing a Tech hoodie. I started chatting about the football team and he had no idea what I was talking about, and he graduated from there. I honestly don’t know why that have a team anymore.

True. Tech students don’t care. My son graduated in 2015. Maybe one of his friends care about football program. He lives in AZ and no longer follows the program.

Tech today is closer to MIT and Cal Tech than UGA or AU.

1980 really hurts I guess. 1990 co champs GT. Must be a democrat. Change the rule to fit your agenda.

Not sure I get your point.

GT was considered co-champs that year.

UT has never considered UGA a rivalry. Really don’t understand why Dawgs do.

As a first generation Dawg, I've realized it's the older generation that is fixated on tech. As a red blooded UGA man, I certainly hate (cleanly) tech, but they are merely a speed bump on the schedule at this point. (Sucks to suck).

I also think the cocktail party should be on a 3 year cycle, home and home + Jacksonville, so take it for what it's worth.

And no, I won't get off your lawn.

I didn't realize we played Texas enough to consider it a rivalry.

Good point.
