How big a shift would that be from Bama being the face of the SEC to the Vols?

Gruden is a pipe dream.

Why would he want to go to that dumpster fire that is Tennessee? Tennessee will have a good year here and there, but the glory days of Tennessee football are over.

Dude hasn't coached in more than a decade and has never been a college head coach. Why the compulsion to crown him I will never understand. UT can and should aim higher.

It is just a fricking joke!

Corch Butch will stay another 5 years.

Because his only collegiate coaching was at Tennessee, his wife was a cheerleader at Tennessee, they own property in Tennessee, and you know he's all coy about it and finds ways to be around the program more than the usual pro football announcer.
Yeah it's a pipe dream, but it's a nice dream.

His son is currently a student as well.
That said, a lot of ranters don't seem to understand that the Gruden thing has been a running joke for years.

If they do they'll be back here in a few years. Burden won a super bowl with a team dungy built then didn't do shite after that.

Tennessee football are over.
That's simply not true. Tennessee is prime football country, still. They've just made some lakcluster hires.
However, the talent, the prestige and the resources are all there.
Heck, I even like their newer uniforms which generally attracts younger guys. If I didn't hate Tennessee more than fat chicks I'd take the paychecks to try and rebuild that program.
But holy frick, if they find a coach who can actually mold the talent they have there NOW, I'd be unhappy for the next few years.
