Is that a current picture? Is that after a natural disaster? Is this a dilapidated wing that's being replaced and they're just trying to get all the books moved?

Library was built in the 50s and leaks like a sieve.

LSU may not have the best facilities maintenance.

The library never fit into the Quad. Totally different architecture. I worked there as a student worker in the 90s. Still had a smoking section on each floor. I should have burnt that place down and done the school a favor.

I remember walking thru the Quad in the 90s on Saturdays pre-gaming with booze in hand while laughing at the nerdy Asians in the library.

TL/DR: It's a shithole that no one will miss and glad they are finally building a new one.

different dollars than are being spent on the athletic department

You know the arguments are in the death throes when SEC fan bases resort to challenging each other on academic standards.

It is 4D chess. Pull all the funding from children’s hospitals and libraries, and then you won’t have any kids who need to use a library. Problem solved.

You’re from/a fan of a team from MS dude lol.

It comes from a separate funding source and does not involve any athletic department funds.

one of my favorite discoveries as a student worker was some books that had all kinds of old school jokes that were denigrating to every race, creed, you name it

Unfortunately, it was colored in by one of Curley's players

Imagine what I could have done with my life if not for killing time getting paid to suck on lung darts. Now I waste it here when I should be a OT billionaire living off passive income from riding the tech boom.

Should have spent more time hanging with those nerdy Asians.

Thank you for the context.
