This is what I think. With the new coordinators this year, most rational fans know there will be a bit of a learning curve and some problems on the field. I think next year, when that first great recruiting class will be seniors and we'll return almost every starter for the second year in a row, will be the year he'll have to be in contention for the SEC champ, and in turn the NC.
If we win 8 games the next two years, then the seat gets very hot.

I find this hard to believe. He just won the first nat'l title in over fifty years for AU. Eight win seasons the next two years while playing in the SECW is more than 86% of CFB teams are capable of.
I think he is there for a while with 8-10 win seasons, as long as he doesn't keep getting blown out 2-4 times a year in the losses.
I personally don't think they will win eight this year.

He was arguable the best DC in the country for several years as well. That wasn't a fluke either (I don't think).

Had lunch with Jay Jacobs over the weekend. He assured me that Chiz was on a very short leash and may even be fired mid-season if he doesn't get his shite together. With the Saban contract extension, the pressure in on.

I hope this was just sarcasm (pretty sure it was
). If Auburn fired an BCSNC winning coach after 1 sub-par season and fires him mid-season that would screw them over bad. Nobody is going to want to take a job at a school that fires their coach who won them an NC.This post was edited on 4/2/12 at 9:33 am
