Is the hate for Gary Danielson/CBS universal in the SEC....or is it just LSU? Thoughts?

Don't have a problem with him myself.

I honestly dont hate Gary Danielson like the majority of LSU fans.

He's an excellent analyst. The only problem with him is that he's a bit of a drama queen.
He's fine.
He's fine.

He used to be my favorite guy but I would rather hear nails on chalkboard now.

I really like Gary. I find him very insightful although maybe a little douchey and certainly a Bama homer.

I don't have a problem with Danielson. He has his faults, but he can sometimes add really good insight.

I think he is one of the best in the biz although most seem to disagree. I will admit he's a bit grating when your team is losing but.. a lot of things are.

I like Gary, other than harping on the same thing forever sometimes. CBS sucks donkey balls.

it mainly seems to be bama and lsu, but I see it from just about every fanbase and I scratch my head every time.
Everyone hates gary because they think he "hates" their team. This is a pretty common phenomenon in humans IMO where people will remember the negatives that a guy says about their team and hang onto that but will quickly dismiss the positives. Gary is awesome and by far one of the best in the business. The guy is a great football mind and terrific at breaking down film. Just about everyone on here thinks gary is a bama homer. All of my in-laws are gumps and live in bham and they hate gary and think he's anti-bama. I can't make this stuff up.

I like Gary D. No problem with him at all.
But...
CBS is the worst producer of college football these days. Absolutely technically terrible. And their contract with the SEC is for pennies and lasts til 2024. Hopefully the SEC will look elsewhere in 2024 where maybe we can be paid properly and have decent production of our games.

"certainly a Bama homer."
We must be talking about another Gary, because the Gary Danielson that does the 230 CBS game is not a Bama homer. If anything he is a Barner in disguise. I just laugh at his antics. The guy is putz, and since they got rid of ole Verne "I can't remember anybody's name" Lundquist, it has improved a little bit.
I like Todd Blackledge better, but anybody beats that Beth character.

I'm convinced Finebaum and Danielson read and post on the rant.
It's what football has become now. Officiating comments are fair game now in the booth especially with the referees they go to all the time for clarification. It's at both college and professional levels.

He once said "Etling took a big Shh---hit on the play."
One of the best TV blunders ever. I think he was saying Shot and then decided to go with Hit mid-sentence.

I like Danielson for the sole reason that he is different.

Everyone but Bama hates him.

I really enjoy his detailed breakdown of plays more than anyone else doing color commentary.
I think the main reason for so many people disliking him is that he does get stuck one point throughout a game too often.
It only takes once for this--especially on crucial 50-50 calls--- to be "against" their team and most fans will forget the 10 times he's argued in favor of their team and just decide he's against them.

I like him, but I wish he wasn't so obvious in who he is rooting for.
I don't think he necessarily is an Alabama fan, but Gary obviously has a rooting interest for the teams or programs he feels are the best. The last 10 years or so, his love for Alabama has been on absolute display..... but when Tebow was at Florida, it was the same way for the Gators back then.
Like I said, I think he just seems to always root for the program he perceives to be at the top. Call me crazy or old school, but I'd rather listen to an analyst call the game without it being obvious who he is personally wishing would win the game.
