So he was credited with one NC and a SEC Championship? How many did Manziel get? 2 or 3?

Dumb arse!!! We won the SEC in 2008 and lost to Bama in 2009 after going 12-0...do you even football? In 2007 after we won the NC we lost everyone from Zooks players on defense and only had 2 returning starters on defense...Tebow carried us on his back to a four loss season in 2007 and won the Heisman THAT year for his offensive output.

Why would you say Tebow is overrated? He is clearly one of the greatest college football players to ever play at his position. His stats speak for themselves. Not that OU's defense in 2008 was worth a damn but Tebow single handily carried his team in the 2nd half and won a national championship against a great football team.

Everybody with the ability to think (exclude Florida fans here) will admit that he shouldn't have won the heisman over McFadden.

Dumbass.

Prior to Tim, no college player in history had ever passed for 20+ TDs and run for 20+ TDs in a single season. Again, 0 in history.

In 2007, he passed for 32 TDs and ran for 23 more. That's 6 more than Run-DMC and he threw for 3200 yards on top of it.

Along for the ride, huh?

You dont have to like Tebow for many reasons, but to say he was an overrated CFB player is just dumb. Guy was a beast

Tebow was a great college QB. What’s more, he always represented the University of Florida, the SEC, and college football with a tremendous amount of class. Not a Gator fan but certainly a Tebow fan.

When youre inside the 10 yard line and the whole defense knows youre going to run the ball and you still score.. that says youre a bad motherfricker

Meh, Replace Tebow with Dak on that Florida team and you get the same result... National Championship and a heisman trophy but more touchdowns. Dak's game also translated to the NFL, and was also coached by the same guy. I'm okay with comparing NFL stats the first 3 years of the NFL if they played because QBs are still green. (barring anyone playing for the browns the last 20 years that is unfair.) All that being said tebow was great in college. Shouldn't have been a first round pick. Late second he is a good pickup.

Johnny Manziel is the most overrated NCAA and SEC player of all time.

I am an LSU fan through and through. I also cannot stand the gators however, Tim Tebow is the best college football overall player and motivator I have ever watched. And he is a great person.

WRONG

quote:

He's often credited with winning two national championships, but the reality is Chris Leak was the starter for the first one. He's praised as being the ultimate SEC quarterback, yet in 3 years starting he only won one SEC championship.

Seems like Tebow gets a lot of credit for the year Chris Leak led the Gators just because of name recognition.

I can think of 3 players off the top of my head over the last 15 years that legit scared me every time they had the ball in their hands no matter how good or talented my team was

Tim Tebow, Cam Newton, and Darren McFadden

The difference was Tim had an amazing team around him, Cam and Darren did more with less.

I'm sorry, but Tim without all the help he got would not have put up those numbers. You put Cam Newton on that team and he would blew away Tebow's numbers. I stand by what I said, he should not have won the hesiman that year. He was not the best college football player that year.. but he was on the best team.
