Ummm no.

Anyone on this board could have played QB last night and UGA would have won.

ETA: That's not meant to be a knock on Stetson but that's who dominant UGA was in every facet of the game.

Stetson was throwing absolute piss missiles into extremely tight windows the entire game.

That throw to Bowers down the middle was an absolute lazer where he looked the safety off and threaded the needle. He’s super under appreciated as a QB. He made some great throws in these playoffs and still gets very little respect. It seems like the only teams that respect him are the ones that he’s beaten soundly.

He would have been killed behind our line in the early part of the season.

Another part of Stetsons game that is often overlooked. He’s slippery as fk even vs direct pressure.

I watched most of the game on the 4K SkyCam broadcast which was right behind the QB. Stetson was throwing absolute piss missiles into extremely tight windows the entire game.

He has done it from time to time before but last night he as doing it an entirely different level. I will openly admit I was worried about Stetson being QB1 at UGA and have worried about it at times this season but he just keeps going out on huge stages and doing what it takes to win. I was convinced UGA could not win a natty with Stetson, then he couldn't win 2, and finally that he had no future in the NFL. I am now of the opinion that he gets drafted, makes a roster and at worst sticks around 4 seasons if he doesn't manage to win a starting spot somewhere in the league...all he does is prove doubters wrong and win. It ain't beautiful, it is at subtle but what it always is is impressive...he just wins and makes doubters second guess themselves.

It's silly to say that Stetson can't play in the NFL at this point. Like with a whole lot of QBs, he needs to be in the right type of situation with an offensive staff who is both good and has the type of system that allows him to do what he does best, but those do exist.

For example, tell me that Stetson Bennett couldn't be a league average QB for Kyle Shannahan in San Francisco right now? I wouldn't be surprised if a specific team sees him as a backup with the possibility to step in with their system and drafts him in the 4th-5th round.

He will be a bargain for what a team could get....he may be a complete bust, may be a 4 year backup (best job in the NFL) or he could be a hall of famer. It has more to do, at this point, given his track record, with what he wants, not what his talent or lack thereof dictates. The kind of work and commitment to do whatever is needed to win is hard to find. He also has some talent which doesn't hurt at all....it all depends on what Bennett wants as he has proven for 2 years.

Do you think Bennet could have gotten LSU to Atlanta this year?

Because there's your answer as to whether he's underrated or overrated.

Yes. And to the CFP if he wanted to bad enough. The ceiling is known only to him and is based on what he wants, not what ANYONE thinks of him...he has proven this

You ain't alone. Any UGA fan who claims they were pro Bennett when Daniels went missing is most likely re-writing history. I vividly remember joking during the UAB game, when Bennett was carving up the Blazers, that the "Stetson for Heisman campaign was officially kicked off" and the folks in our section picking that mantra up and having a ball with it, with every pass someone would mention the "Stetson for Heisman campaign" as a joke. Lo and behold he was 3 folks away from making that joke come true on his way to back to back natty's. I was wrong and almost everyone not named Bennett was wrong.

Stetson Bennett is the #1 QB in the country against ranked AP opponents and it isn't close.

What some don’t realize is that a QB is much, much more than an arm. Their best asset is between their ears. SFBIV is a very, very smart QB.

Stetson Bennett is one of the most underrated players ever. If they guy was playing somewhere like Ohio State, USC, or Alabama, he'd have been on everyone's Heisman watch list.

But, because everyone thinks Georgia is a defensive team with little offense, Bennett doesn't get in that discussion. It's a perception of UGA that was once valid, but isn't now.

Georgia does things different from a lot of big offensive teams.

1) we don't have a college football offensive system. This isn't 5-7 plays packaged over and over each week.
Because of that, the offense (and defense) tries to have a new identity each week.
Not every style is going to be a blowout.
However when it comes to December and January, the offense is gassed up with so many ways to beat an opponent, it is literally like flipping a switch and there isn't anything the opponent can do about it.

2 (and other teams do this as well... just not as often because they don't have the depth) UGA death marches a lot of opponents. There are a few exceptions. I don't expect that we will ever death march Vandy again after the shite they pulled in 2020. We aren't going to death March a coach who talks trash to the media (malzahn, mullen).
We don't death March an opponent going for it on 4th down or who burns timeouts when down by 4 scores.

The last 2 seasons, we death marched LSU, GT, Miss St, Tennessee, Kent St, South Carolina, Samford, Oregon, Michigan, GT, Charleston Southern, Tennessee, Missouri, Kentucky until Stoops was burning timeouts in the 4th quarter, Auburn, and UAB.

It isn't running up offensive snaps and consequently not running up offensive scores/stats.

Again, other teams do this (Tennessee is one). Just not at the frequency of UGA.
