Well considering we played better competition and put our second team in there is going to be some extra scores

You have? Buffalo would get smoked by ECU, Vandy and UAB. I bet Vandy beats Mizzou this year so really the Gamecocks have played the tougher of the two schedules thus far.

You really think we haven't put our second team in? Actually, one of the two TD's we've allowed was given up by the 2nd string.

You honestly think FAU or Buffalo could take Ohio State into the halftime 14-12, on their home field??

edit: oh well, now 21-12 in the final minute of 1st half. But UAB is playing them tough....

Bro, they famously sold out every game of an 0-11 season, before the arrival of SOS. LSU, Ala, UGA whoever would never be able to do that! Not that I think any of those teams would have to either.

Okay. Nobody OUTSIDE THE STATE OF SOUTH CAROLINA knew SC had a football team until Steve Spurrier showed up in Columbia. SC is basically Clemson's bitch and is historically barely above .500.

No, not even close. Georgia's the only team in the country that's capable of beating Bama IMO. Remember, they haven't been at full strength on defense. Once they get all their starters back, their defense is going to be scary good.

You guys haven't played better competition. We both played vandy and Mizzou. Y'all played Buf and FAU, we played ECU and UAB. We played teams with equal winning records. (Buf and FAU have 1 each, ECU has 2 wins).

Also, we've only allowed 3 TD's in 4 games. 1 was to ECU against our 3rd string in garbage time and another 1 was against our 2nd string against mizzou in garbage time. ONLY 1 was against our first string (against Vandy).

UGA has allowed 7 TD's on defense (They also had 1 pick 6, but that doesn't count for this argument). 6 of the 7 TD's scored were not in garbage time. (I'll give you that the last TD by Zordich during Buffalo was garbage time, the game was basically over.)

You're really reaching there. We had a solid program in the 80's, and won a lot of games. We disappeared during the 90's and then Hotlz brought us back to back victories against Ohio State in the early 2000's. We had a lot of national exposure under Holtz as well.

Both defenses are stout. Both have the capability of just wrecking the opposing offense. Competition has been about the same, both are improving as the season goes on (and UGA had to deal with some suspensions). Any Dawg or Gamecock that tries to say one is significantly better than the other is just being a homer. Or an arse. Or both.

I think its safe to say...neither side is consenting on this matter. On October 6th nothing will be left to speculation. I think both teams are very talented and its gonna be a slug fest in Columbia (the real Columbia).

My take:
Offense:
QB = advantage UGA, with Shaw coming on strong
WR = advantage UGA
OL = advantage UGA (USCe Tackle play this year has been bad)
RB = advantage USCe...Lattimore is proven and kicked UGA's arse 2 years running.

Defense:
D-Line = advantage USCe....Clowney and Taylor are Beastly.
Linebackers = Wash...with Ogletree back, this could go to UGA
Secondary = advantage UGA...I think most Cocks will agree with this

Special Teams: advantage USCe..Ace Sanders is the fastest dude I have ever seen.

Head Coach = advantage USCe...Spurrier is still a genius.

Thats my 2cents...I'm not gonna call a winner, but obviously, I think UGA is more talented. but that doesn't always matter.

I enjoy watching Holtz...He always gives me a good laugh or two before I go to sleep, on Sat nights. Holtz hates UGA soo bad, it even blinded him to pick Hawaii over the Dawgs...

I'm liking this new UG/USC peeing match. We can just fly under the radar for a bit while rebuilding what Urban destroyed.

Agree, so many questions will be answered Oct 6th, this is going to go down as another one of the really tough great games.

You don't really think Urban destroyed it, right? I mean, he did win 2 BCSCG's. I thought it was just apparent that with Tebow gone and adding Charlie "College Football Kryptonite" Weiss was the real reason the program went south for a couple years.

He destroyed the offensive side of the ball by failing to recruit any play makers there. One SEC caliber RB and zero stars at WR and no true TE is a giant fail on Urban's part.

Weis was a complete disaster for sure.

It lead to getting Pease so I suppose it was worth it in the long run.

Trust me as a GA fan...we do not OVERLOOK the Gaotrs. You will never fly under the radar to any GA fan or team. Based on talent and last years performance, FL is third behind UGA and USCe. With that said, you could still very well win the East this year and turn out to be the best squad. We haven't forgot abt FL, we just have USCe on the horizon. Your time will come.

Who's better is a matter of opinion. I will say this however, we most certainly have better defense anybody who want's to argue this fact should look no further than the defensive lines which is where it all starts.
