It seems as though every time we try a trick play it fails, and every time someone attempts one on us it works.

It’s amazing that he’s had the success he has and yet this remains true.

That field goal wasn’t a trick play. It was a fumbled snap by Paul Tyson.

2015 onside kick against Clemson makes up for all the others.

We’ve run very few. We used to run a flea flicker that was deadly back around 2009-2014. The only real ooof of a trick play I can remember was the fake field goal vs Clemson and the fake punt early against Texas.

Well it’s good that he is usually well ahead early in the game and almost never has to resort to them.

The ‘Pop Kick’ against Clemson worked like a charm and led directly to a national championship…we lose that game without it…

I read where they noticed on film how Clemson lined up for kickoffs and practiced that kick a lot in the days leading up to the game…think Saban kept it in his pocket till Bama needed it…

Saban didn’t call a fake punt. It was a call by the punter based on a particular formation that was discussed earlier in the year, not for this team or game.

Yes. Trick plays are contradictory to his very essence. Luckily, we hardly even need them. Other teams should definitely run them more often.

Although, Kirby’s fake FG in the last SEC championship against us was terrible.

I was at that game in California. Kicker was missing extra points warming up. Nobody in the stadium thought he was going to kick it. Should have just kept the offense on the field
