Remember this one?

In fairness, that wasn't Saban who called that play. P.J. Fitzgerald had studied film with the coaches and they told him that if Texas showed a certain look while lining up to receive a punt, a fake might work. Texas lined up in that formation, Fitzgerald checked on the fly, and threw that wounded goose of a pass right into the arms of an awaiting Blake Gideon.

Hindsight being what it is, Gideon should have batted the ball down instead of intercepting it. That way Texas gets the ball on the 20-yard line instead of closer to midfield and McCoy likely doesn't get hurt on that drive. That was just one of two season-changing plays Gideon was involved in. The year before he had dropped an easy interception on Texas Tech's final drive. Two plays later...Crabtree catches the game winning pass.

It seems as though every time we try a trick play it fails

The onside kick against Clemson won him a national championship.

The video of him laughing at the onside kick against Clemson made it look like he didn’t even think that shite was gonna work lol

Marlon Humphrey said every time they ran it in practice he couldn't catch the ball. Lol.
