Saban ruined what the expectations of head coaches should be in the FBS Power 5 level.

Not the fact that all those championship teams but 1 are from the south pissed everyone off. It can't be that the south is better at something than the of the nation.

Until you play your first football game in this proud conference please stfu and focus on your bottom of the barrel power 5 league.

I would replace everyone with Mark Emmert. I’d risk everything I own that Emmert let’s some get away with stuff and others not. How one person could have that job for as long as he has is ridiculous. They need oversight and constant change at the top to keep the institution that controls corruption from becoming corrupt. But instead, they basically have given him a lifetime appointment.

Cracks? Won the NC in 2020 and took the game deep into the 4th against the national champion last season. Preseason #1 or #2 going into next, and finished recruiting with highest average star rating per player ever recorded with this freshman class. Don't confuse your delusions with reality, bud.

Saban already looking to make excuses by complaining so much about the NIL. Bama been paying players forever and now the playing field just got leveled. Saban can't stand it. That's why the....gasp.... aggies are out recruiting them right now.

I truly don't get these threads. If Saban's teams are so good and that bothers you, get better and work harder. It's not like he's got magical powers or something. And before the obligatory "he cheats and buys players", then you go buy some if that's what you think. With NIL you can do it legally. What he does takes tons of work and commitment at all levels but it can be duplicated, Kirby has a start at Georgia. I got tired of watching Spurrier beat us but I didn't want to whine about him, I wanted US to improve.
That is all.
That is all.

Highest average player rating ever.
I know being a Tennessee fan hurts.

Sometimes you just have a coach and program that is there every year. It is not unprecedented in other sports and they all survived it.

I COULD buy that he hurt it short term, but long term he helped it tremendously because he proved that they won't stop you from winning if you play enough by their rules.
So, there is hope to the fan experience that you could witness your own program build an actual dynasty and they won't cheat you out of it just for being good at kicking arse.
Seeing schools go on runs is healthy for any sport.
Just my $0.02

It’s not ruined for me. Working pretty good. Did UCLA ruin college basketball?

You mean by blatantly cheating while his butt buddy, Mark Emmert, ran cover for him?
Yes.
His incessant whining for rule changes that benefit him?
Yes.
NIL? So other schools could do above board what that filthy bunch in Alabama has been doing for years?
Yes.
All the bullshite political correctness, targeting, 2 hours of commercials every game.
No.

Recruiting is the main reason: $30,000,000+ paid to players every year.

Agree. NIL leveled the playing field. Alabama and the REC have been paying players in one way or another for a long time. Saban took it to an art form. NCAA has always turned a blind eye because of Nicky’s connections and the fact that bammer is the cash cow of the SEC.
