OM balls out this year, has a good enough record to win the West, only to have the NCAA pull the rug out from under them at the last second with postseason ineligibility. WAOM lives on in infamy...

Kelly is absolutely in Watsons league, to argue otherwise shows how little you know about QBs.

Kelly had more total yards in a single year than anyone in the SEC not named Manziel. I don't know why people don't understand this.

Yes more than Cam, Tebow, etc.

Ignoring the cloud hanging over Ole Miss in the form of the NCAA investigation I would say on paper that Ole Miss looks like a very talented team that could do some damage on the national scene.

On the field however, there are two or three WTF games a year that Ole Miss throws out there under Freeze.

Last year they sleep walked their way through a loss to Memphis. The loss itself wasn't that bad, but the way Memphis imposed their will on Ole Miss and pushed them around the field was.

The loss to Arkansas was marred by dumb penalties and a noted lack of effort from some of their players.

I don't think they make it this year.

No one took them really seriously until they almost beat Bama.

From the gate, everyone knew Clemson has a decent shot at making the CFP, and after they steam rolled OU, it was obvious they belonged.

We have increased win totals every year under Freeze. If trend continues than we should cut down some of those WTF games. Hard schedule this year so we will wait and see.

Watson - 156.3 QB rating in 2015

Kelly - 155.86 QB rating in 2015

Only one of these quarterbacks played in the SEC. You can look up any other stats yourself.

2 played under June jones at Hawaii, so no on them. Harrell finished 4th in heisman voting in 2008, so yes on him.

Watson and kelly were 10th and 11th in passer rating last year FYI.

Clemson lost 3 #1 draft picks and played last season under the giant shadow of the NCAAs phallic Asherah Pole?

Damn impressive Clemson

It's not a real Ole Miss football season if we don't WAOM at least once.

See Memphis 2015.

Last year's Arkansas loss was not a WAOM loss whatsoever. The offense played magnificently, as did BA and the Hogs. Those were two good teams going toe-to-toe and y'all made just the right amount of plays down the stretch to pull it out.

Everyone remembers the Henry Heave, but no one remembers that we blocked y'all's game-winning FG attempt to send it to overtime to begin with.

An SEC classic.

I think our 2016 schedule is too brutal to escape without at least three losses.

Look at it this way: even if we escape September 3-1, we have to go to Fayetteville and Baton Rouge in consecutive weeks in mid-October.

Which is exactly like Clemson until last year...which is the basis of the question in the OP.
