With all their built in advantages, why don’t they win more? It’s puzzling really.

You could swap Georgia for Texas and still be correct.

How many championships does Ohio State, Texas and Georgia have? That should give you your answer.

8 national championships, 41 B1G titles and only ALABAMA has sat atop the AP poll at number 1 longer than Ohio State.

Next question junior?

As a conference, we have UGA who is more guilty of underachieving given recruiting grounds and institutional support as an advantage. And, LSU is almost equally as guilty for underperforming for decades pre-2000. The talent has always been there. But, the investment in facilities, recruiting, development, and coaching lacked way too long.

Both are great programs, and while LSU has had relative great success since 2000, each has had much more opportunity than others to reach and sustain that success for most of the modern football era

They brag about not having down years, but they play in a weaker conference with built in big city recruiting, but still only manage a championship a decade at best. All this while the south was Sparsely populated.

But they beat Michigan, put them in the championship game!

Since 1980, I would say we have only had 10 teams remotely capable of winning a National title. Even then, Nebraska/Miami/Alabama/Florida were in the mist of dynasties.

We had strong teams in 81, 82, 83, 92, 97, 02, 08, 12, 17, 21, even then most of theSe years we would have played better teams.

Only now are at a true talent advantage. Thank you Smart.

We've only had the institutional support since KS has been here. Richt did not have it.

You are clueless. Ohio State has been a juggernaut through the decades with multiple head coaches. 41 B1G titles, what's wrong with you?

And short of the SEC being the boss this century in college football, that has hardly been the case for the B1G conference. Woody Hayes laughs at your inability to research and know your subject.

Underachieving definition: to do less well than expected….do you expect Ole Miss to win championships? We don’t do that, but we did do okay last Saturday night in your house…

When SI used to do their preseason top 20, most years were alternately OSU or Michigan and the basis was their easy schedules. At the national level I would say they consistently under achieve. Not arguing, just my opinion.

Well, 6 of those NC were before 1970. If OSU has been AP #1 so many times, why so few NCs?

I do not think OSU is the most underachieving program, but that fact puts an interesting spin on it.
