What are you specifically seeing from Myles as a QB that make him bad on 3rd down?

Apparently you haven't watched that closely

What are you not seeing? He’s been awful.

Myles Brennan on 3rd Down
- 6/24
- 59 passing yards
- 2 TD
- 2 INT
- Sacked 5 times
- 13% success rate on 3rd down plays with him passing or rushing
- 32.7 passer rating (Doesn’t even include sacks)

I know someone mentioned that there have been drops and poor blocking, but it doesn’t matter. Every QB in the SEC except maybe Ken Seals has better 3rd down stats. He’s made terrible decisions trying to force the ball on 3rd down.

The defense is the major problem but Brennan will never win championships

So he gets sacked 20% of the time on 3rd down, that seems troubling

You said you watched the games, not read the stat sheets. So did you also know lsu is 2nd in the nation in drops? And a lot of those came on 3rd down. While not watching, did you also know that lsu is almost 1st in the nation on average yards to go on 3rd down?

Yep. And he could’ve avoided most of them. LSU fans said it themselves after the Mississippi State game.

What do you want me to do? Link individual plays or something?

Like I said, you can cut him a little slack for it, but all these plays weren’t drops.

Stetson Bennett is probably the most average QB in the nation and Brennan is definitely better than him, but Bennett’s 3rd down stats are waaaay better.

24/37
320 passing yards
5 TDs
2 INTs
Sacked 2x
35 rushing yards
59% success rate

Brennan has navigated the pocket much better in the other two games yet the third down woes have persisted.

Tends to happen when you can't run, block, or catch passes.

Not saying Brennan has been perfect but its hard to say he could've been much better if you look at what he's had to deal with.

I haven't watched Georgia much this year but I'd be willing to wager that they aren't constantly putting Lil Stet in third and long situations and failing to pick up blitzers when they do and also dropping his passes when he does manage to get it off.

This is proof you haven't watched a single one of our games

Average distance on our third downs is over twice as much as UGAs

Lol go and watch those throws and tell me how many were straight drops it's inexcusable but it happened and I think they will get a grip on it.

The reason Brennan is so bad on 3rd down is because we don't run the ball effectively whatsoever, especially in the Mizzou game. Other than maybe Costello and Seals, I'd be willing to bet Myles has faced the most 3rd and longs in the conference.

Sometimes our offense clicks and the passing game looks unstoppable, and other times we go 3 and out. Despite having statistically one of the best passing attacks in the SEC, our 3 & Out rate is one of the highest

They should have stuck with Brennan and benched Bo and they’d be just fine. He’s doing what he did at Nebraska, make a system so complex it impresses coaches and baffles his own players when he faces motion.

In the only game I have watched all snaps the Mizzou game, the play calling was atrocious. They all but abandoned the run and where there for in too many 3rd and long situations. Plus Bo is a fricking dumpster fire of a DC.

Stetson Bennett’s QBR on 3rd & 7 and longer is 162.0

His QBR on 3rd & 6 or shorter is 98.0

Ok, so the tweet where I saw those QBR numbers was actually before Alabama, but my point still stands. Here are the numbers:

On 3rd & 6 or shorter
- 10/19
- 104 yards
- 2 TD
- 1 INT
- 2 rushes, 15 yards
- Sacked 2x
- 81.9 QBR

On 3rd &7 or longer
- 14/18
- 216 yards
- 3 TDs
- 1 INT
- 2 rushes, 20 yards
- Sacked 1x
- 133.1 QBR
