But on the other hand, recruiting in the SEC is like no other conference and had to have been a huge culture shock for him. If he does leave for Michigan, I think it would be because he’s been so overwhelmed and bit off more than he could chew coming to the SEC. It’s a lot and so much different even in the last couple of years now with NIL. I think a lot of these older coaches are going to retire and/or look for easier paths. If Saban were still around, I wouldn’t have been the least bit shocked seeing Kelly leave for Michigan.

Depends. Do you like the idea of playing Rutgers at 11am when it’s 25 degrees?
The flip side of this is playing in Baton Rouge at 3:30 when it's 98 degrees and honestly at least at Rutgers I can put a sweater on

Baton Rouge is a great place to live. I lived in the suburbs in Texas and ATL for many decades. I'm glad to be back in BR now in retirement. It amuses me that so many here think BR is a dump. Like every city, there are poor areas of course. But I live in a nice area and when I drive to restaurants, church, shopping, I pass through nice areas. LSU is 11 miles from my house and I see nothing but nice areas when I drive to LSU as I often do.
But the ignorant among you can keep thinking that BR is a dump if it keeps you away from here.
Baton Rouge is also what, 90 minutes from New Orleans? I know most people also despise New Orleans but I tend to discount the views of people who think Gatlinburg is good way to experience the Appalachian Mountains. I am an Atlanta native so I have more reason than most folks for trashing New Orleans at every opportunity and trust me I do my job as a native Atlantan but if you can't enjoy New Orleans you can't enjoy life. The comparable city for Ann Arbor would be Detroit...it is not hard at all not to enjoy Detroit. Hell, for 10 months a year the weather alone is reason enough to avoid Detroit....For me and my idea of a good life Baton Rouge and the surrounding area is infinitely more acceptable than Ann Arbor. From a college football POV there is NO comparison....Baton Rouge is that much again better than Ann Arbor. LSU has won 3 nattys with 3 coaches, 2 of which are universally considered less than great coaches. If Coach O, love him for who he is, can win a natty anyone can. Michigan has won one in the same time frame.

Yea Ann Arbor probably isn’t the best, but I highly doubt it’s as dirty and trashy as BR

I wonder who lsu will get as a Coach when Kelley bolts for his dream job?

No it’s not. Only a dunce would need an explanation

Michigan has had more historical success than LSU. I think LSU is the better job based on the last 20 years or so. Harbaugh is getting ready to leave. LSU has more institutional commitment to football right now.

“LSU has more institutional commitment to football..” WTF…in addition to kids hospitals y’all raiding nursing homes, pet rescue centers, etc., now?

I will agree BR is a shithole lol, but LSU is the better job especially with a 12 team playoff now. Recruiting ceiling is a lot higher at LSU

I see plenty of engineering authorizations as an AMT, so it is your perogative if you wish to make the spelling and grammar comment.
But what kind of engineer doesn’t math??

More job security at UM as well. If I were a coach choosing between the two, it would probably be Michigan since I'd have a better chance of actually getting the entire payout
Unless the contract is fully guaranteed. Then it would be a coin flip

Not a shite hole like BR.
Ann Arbor is nothing to write home about.

This may shock some people but I believe Michigan is the better job over LSU. More money for NIL, a bigger stadium, a nicer community, and their fan's family tree isn't a pole.

I think 10-15 years will be a LONG career as a HC for the foreseeable future. I would almost bet that no current coach is still coaching 15 years from now....its too much.

Like BR it has its nice and shitty parts. But the food is awful, the women are too sturdy, and the only decent flights are through Detroit. Give me BR any day of the week.

I would say LSU is the better job. Better stadium, more in state recruiting etc
Why the hell do the aggies suck then. They have top tier stadium and elite instate talent.
