Les Miles seems to be fitting this mold and having Chavis is helping.

Maybe "Chief" is the common thread.....

re: Is Les Miles the new Phil Fulmer? (Posted on 10/20/13 at 12:56 pm to ChicagoVol) its not the firing that was yalls problem it was the following up hire. bama and uf aren't scared to replace a coach that isn't a title winner. if bama was they would still have mike shula based off his 05 year instead of replacing him one year later to bring in the greatest coach of all time. uf would be short of two titles if they had the attitude of well if we fire zook we might be worse than now. they fired zook and brought in urban to win another two national titles. I still think we need major staff shake ups and then if next year is another fail we fire les miles B, I'm from Louisiana

Les Miles is a title winning coach. I don't know how you can compare him with Shula or Zook, but I understand your frustrations. I remember when 10 win seasons weren't good enough for the Vols.

Agreed.

All I heard from Tennessee fans when Miles hired him was "You guys are going to love 3rd & Chavis". Boy, were they right. Last night was nothing, but 3rd & Chavis. Pitiful.

Tennessee waited too long to fire Fulmer. Should have been canned after 05.

lol wat? we beat the frick out of the cocks in 07. it started the cock down slide that year

USCe was waaaay overrated that year. As they have been in most years. That and Florida was LSU's signature wins in 07. USCe hit the skids and Florida would up in the Capital one bowl. Not big wins. LSU struggled with a Bama team that had been dominated by Monroe and was blown out by Miss. State. A miracle of all miracles put LSU in the title game. Honestly, Kansas should have played OSU that season for it all. They had one loss but it was at the worst time. The end of the season.

No, Les Miles is not Phil Fulmer.

I can understand LSU fans being upset, but it's not like Ole Miss was a scrub team. The only thing that shocked me was them losing to Auburn (which is no longer shocking, really).

At least you didn't lose to Tennessee or something.

the completely lifelessness of the team and total lack of urgency is the problem

IMO he's more like another Charles McClendon than a Fulmer

Ha. Interesting comparison. LSU fans wanting to fire Les should take heed; it didn't work out too well for UT.
