Is Jimbo the first ever college coach to be fired the day after winning a game?

Wins by 41 points.

Team becomes bowl eligible.

Coach gets fired.

I can't think of another time of this ever happening.

Happens all the time, decisions such are as firings aren't done in the heat of the moment.

Regents met and voted on Thursday to let him go.
This game was inconsequential in terms of Fisher’s employment at A&M.
Now, previous A&M v State games certainly didn’t do him any favors.
