Is it in the best interest of the SEC for us to root for AU?

Besides the financial benefit that we would gain from Bama winning a NC what good does it do the rest of us? Losing the IB and watching AU play for the SEC would devastate Bama. These crazy Gumps expect to win a crystal trophy every year. A loss like that, to your hated rival, would get them so fired up they could push NS to take that job at Texas. Saban goes to Texas the rest of the SEC wins.

Since your team can't win the crystal then root for the upset? That makes total sense to me... A one loss SEC team will not make it to Pasadena compared to a undefeated Ohio State and FSU.

At the level of this game, it wouldn't be fair to root for either of them. I'll root for whomever wins the SECCG. I figure they'll deserve it.

I'll have no problem rooting for the Final Four:

Alabama
Auburn
Missouri
South Carolina

May the best team win!

Who gives a frick? I'm guessing most people outside of SEC country don't even know what state Auburn is in.
